  • If a rural lifestyle is something he wants to experience before being too old for it, sooner is better than later, so I get the exploring options right now part. Having concerns about things changing fast is perfectly fine, but things can change fast at any age, too.

If you're not opposed to rural living aside from that, work together to find a place where decent medical care is reasonably accessible, even to the point of researching GPs in the area to find one that suits you both. Come to an agreement that, if necessary for either one of you, you'll move back to "civilization" as necessary.

You're not unreasonable, you're cautious, and it's normal for the first reaction to be "we shouldn't do that." Take a breath, understand that everything has risk, take some steps to mitigate your identified risks, and see how that works out.

  • The US military has said the operation went as planned and that it was an “overwhelming success.”

Just to be clear, that can be true and the mission failed to do more than set Iran back a few months. They can have destroyed the targets they were told to destroy (success), but the targets may have been wrong or incomplete. Or, as the article suggests, the bombs landed where they were supposed to, but didn't penetrate underground enough to do the damage desired.

  • I saw a longer quote from him. He doesn't blame online abuse, rather says that it was a (major?) contributing factor. He also said that some of that abuse was coming from other animal rescues, so I'm sure he's fucking pissed on top of grieving.

  • Headline is badly written.

It's not a "war powers resolution to authorize Trump's Iran strikes" that Johnson is opposing.

It's a "war powers resolution [which would prevent US intervention in Iran]" that Johnson opposes, and his opposition is supporting authorization of Trump's Iran strikes.
