  • Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. advocated for the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine during a visit to West Texas on Sunday to comfort two families whose children died of the disease.

Driving the news: Both children in Gaines County were not vaccinated when they died of measles, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Maybe they were too young yet? Somehow I doubt it.

  • That math process for adding the two numbers - there's nothing wrong with it at all. Estimate the total and come up with a range. Determine exactly what the last digit is. In the example, there's only one number in the range with 5 as the last digit. That must be the answer. Hell, I might even use that same method in my own head.

The poetry example, people use that one often enough, too. Come up with a couple of words you would have fun rhyming, and build the lines around those words. Nothing wrong with that, either.

These two processes are closer to "thought" than I previously imagined.

  • Is it indicative that Democrats in New York (and elsewhere, surely) are primed for the people they elected to grow spines? Sure. We knew that, I think.

Does it have anything at all to do with Schumer's Senate seat three years from now? Not really.

  • It is unclear what the Schumer-Ocasio-Cortez poll could mean for the New York primary in three years, however, with surveys this early rarely being predictive. Ocasio-Cortez has also been noncommittal about a potential Senate run. Schumer has filed paperwork to run for reelection.

This is a fluff piece, with zero real substance.
