Great point. I am not familiar with sync or the dev so I couldn't speak to their reliability, although the outpouring of support suggests they'll be active.

Yeah, "the economy" doesn't mean anything.

More commerce just means more money changing hands. Unemployment rate just measures jobs. None of this impacts the average person.

Buying power is down and has been dropping for longer than I've been alive. This especially impacts the low and vanishing middle class Americans.

This is the way to think about it.

I recently cancelled my Netflix and Spotify accounts because of horrible support and constant rate hikes. It's the perfect time to splurge and support a dev that deserves the money.

These models are designed in such a way that those who can afford to support do, and those who can't afford to still have access through the free version.

They certainly don't expect everyone to purchase ultra, let alone lifetime.

I feel as though this information is left intentionally absent in this post.

App development ain't cheap and lifetime subscriptions are an incredible deal if you like the features and intend to keep using the app for the next decade plus. But you've got to look at it that way or else it's not worth it.

As I get older I begin to realize that people love to work.

However people hate being treated like shit.

Treating people like shit or building an environment that supports shitty behavior poisons the well and will absolutely make people leave, even for a pay cut.

If you just respect people and properly value them and their contributions to your organization, you'll never have trouble keeping them.

They seem to have skipped the "one nation" part.

Advertising is 100% an arms race. It's probably one of the most destructive things to the social fabric and goodwill in society right now.

Proactive truth, honesty, and disclosure should be the priority of companies when reaching the market. Instead we get entertainment, vague claims and absurd lies.

If there's a driving lane and a turning lane (or offramp/onramp) get in the back of the line.

If there's two MERGING LANES, merge at the last moment (zipper style).

Don't confuse these or you're the asshole.

I don't know why people have such a hard time understanding this.

You don't know Spacey and you don't know the accusers. Just because there are 9 of them doesn't make it rape.

I don't have any doubt that he "used" fame and the authority provided by celebrity to get people to agree to things that they may not have really wanted.

There's a chasm between being an egomaniac and being a predator.

Warren Buffett doesn't pay income tax because he doesn't earn income.

The billionaires don't have a billion in cash, they don't earn a billion dollars a year. They hold assets worth that much.

Taxing wealth is the only way to combat the wealth gap.

When people successfully live off the grid they do it by essentially making their own grid.

People's obsession with "off grid" really demonstrates a lack of gratitude for everything that society provides.

It's essentially the modern adult version of running away as a child.
