  • Haha, that would be fantastic. Or until Vance says sorry for disrespecting Zelenskyy just for the shit n giggles

He'd not get it out of Trump but 100% you could cause division by Trump insisting that Vance has to do it :)

  • It's old English meaning kind of "uplands near a watery place". Its an actual place near where I live, about 5 miles south of Newbury, Berkshire, England.

Andrew Lloyd Webber lives just to the North of it and De Haviland did his maiden flight to the West of it just on the other side of the A34 road.

The author lived there as a child, interestingly so did the author of Paddington Bear

  • I'm not sure, I think they were worthless (like, beyond respect from your peers which is naturally bs).

I think they also introduced awards which I know cost real money to buy but intriguingly were valueless to the receipient

  • Going cold turkey. Bizarrely I like lemmy more as there's less content so I don't scroll as much.

I nuke my accounts pretty regularly for data security so didnt really have any value in my account (none of this "I had 1500 karma coins" or whatever)

  • I can't find details of what China's existing tariffs on the US were? I'm not saying I don't belief you, I'm interested in what they were - any chance you could link me to the details please?

  • I'm in the UK, my wife mocks me daily for having a desire to understand what the US now is and to act on that.

I would say not a single friend or family member that I can tell if openly talking action.

It's so disappointing but I'll trudge on and hope they turn on eventually

  • Yup, that's the way it's going. There won't be enough take up so they'll start putting features ("oh, you want golf, that'll be the $3.99/month golf subscription) and data like personal bests behind the paywall

  • I recall an app called endomondo doing similar. I'd bought the Pro version for lifetime only to find them move to a Premium option.

That was fine as I still had what I had paid for.... until take up wasn't good enough and slowly key features moved behind the paywall.

Im fairly certain this is the direction this is going. I wonder if there'll be a class action if so to force buy back of the hardware
