  • In the UK, the take up of smart meters for electric and gas has been slow due go concerns that this would enable companies to do the same.

It's not a bad argument (haven't paid, turn it off) but then if you're struggling financially is it better not to be allowed to rack up further debt anyway?

  • I don't know what planet someone is on to think that sort of money doesn't put this family in "rich" territory.

Maybe it's the differing interpretation of "rich". Maybe it's living in London and losing perspective because you're surrounded by wealth and lose scale

  • In the UK we almost have this in something called NCT (National Childbirth Tr. .. ust).

It's not compulsory and most only do it for their first but you're kinda so shit scared that most tend to do it.

The knowledge is good but getting a close network of 5 other couples having a baby within a month of each other is invaluable...for the mums, the dad's are shit at keeping in touch typically lol

  • Does that need to be a truck though? I guess in your situation it does but I can't imagine living so far off road that I need a truck to run to the store.

I do like the concept of Bezos truck (having always felt EV design should have gone in the direction of small efficient low range cars) but feel it won't carry anything that a small estate couldn't.

  • How do you know that's a bot please? Is it specifically a hot advertising that online photos hop equivalent? Is it a real software or scam? The whole approach is intriguing to me

  • I wish others shared your view. Got chatting to someone similar (had to be in 5 days a week) at a wedding. We established why he thought everyone should be was just jealousy!

My view is it makes it better for office workers not to have 9 other idiots on the road so your commute is nicer. And if your partner is one of them they can do all the chores while you commite/at lunch etc.

  • I think the Scots having to click on an English flag to read something would piss them off more?

Or are you suggesting having a Scottish flag that displays the site in Gaelic for that 2% of Scots that know it?

  • I think they're referring to their username, not just escalating to 100 out of nowhere.

Saying that, I have "idiot" in some of my usernames and am always surprised when people use it as a comeback. Like, I'm calling myself an idiot, do you think it has any effect when someone else does?

Back on subject, my view for what it's worth is this shows how different we are - some people want a coffee out, some are prepared to take a ready made one. I don't really crave coffee out of the house so wouldn't do either
