  • And this was said about able-bodied parasites such as owners of the means of production, shareholders, landlords, and others living off society on non-labor income.

And Ukrainians, don't forget Ukrainians. I know enough about early Soviet history to know that Stalin was a cold-blooded murderer. Not that the rest of the Communist Party was full of upstanding global citizens, but Stalin was particularly egregious.

  • Uh... This is coming from the folks who said "he who does not work, neither shall he eat" during a famine so... uh... yeah, that's not the flex you think it is.

Edit: And in case anyone is wondering, this gets worse with context.

  • And remember: Carney was elected on a wave of anti-Trump and anti-conservative backlash. This is the Joe Biden of Canada; at this rate Carney will completely delegitimize the left (yes I know the Liberals aren't leftist, that doesn't matter) and Conservatives will cinch the next election like (or even more than) they were going to cinch this one. Y'all need to organize fast if you want to remain a democracy by 2035.

  • It is too late for electoral politics to save democracy, if that's what you're talking about. People like Mamdani are important for the day after, but Trump will have to be deposed much like his ilk in Ukraine and Tunisia.

  • I assume you mean in reference to the general last year?

That's the most recent example, yes, but you get this spiel whenever you suggest going against the party in anything beyond local elections.

I raged against the way the left brought disaster upon the Palestinians despite their best intentions.

Where are you getting the idea that it was the left that let Trump win? Democrat non-voters were for the most part moderates.

fight FOR the left in primaries, vote AGAINST fascists in the general.

The whole point of this mantra is to not split the anti-fascist vote. And what are the Democrats doing now after not getting their way? Ignore the primary and split the anti-fascist vote. The whole point of not splitting the vote is defeated when the liberals then decide to split the vote. I'm also very much not convinced that a vote for Democrats is a vote against fascism given that they just voted not to impeach Trump.

  • And there's getting shot by regime snipers. I'm not trying to make an "others had it worse" argument, but let's not have any illusions about the scale of action and the amount of risk necessary for America to get out of this. The more you wait the more likely it becomes for this happen in the next protest where you live. Also, as I said, they can't fire everyone. Maidan and Arab Spring protesters returned to their jobs just fine after their revolutions.
