  • Comcast for decades have said on their website they support my parent's address but they obviously do not since there are no cables on the poles for Internet. We've tried calling and asking to fix it and we've tried calling to just get someone out so we can prove they don't service it but each time we scheduled an appointment nobody showed up and when calling back they would say they never set one up. So I'm pretty sure you're correct.

  • History channel once played something called "History Rocks" and it's just an hour long documentary of period specific events, but there's no voice over narrating anything. Instead they played raw footage with music from that time period and subtitles at the bottom explaining what was happening. I saw one episode for Vietnam once and hearing "The Police - SOS" while watching personnel shove helicopters off flight decks to make room for more evacuees from Saigon really showed just how awful it was. I can't seem to find those episodes anywhere.

  • Good article however I would like it if the scroll bar on the examples was always visible. On mobile it took me a minute to realize there was more to some of the code snippets, like the square function in the .map() example.

  • I may do that already when I get stuck... Tbf I am trying to learn and only ask it to explain how to do something or if I have a bug I can't figure out. I feel sometimes it's just best to get an answer if I've been stuck for a while because I'm not making progress anyway.

  • And I'm sure plenty of businesses will try that angle. Citizens United was created so individuals can distance themselves from "the corporation" and so nobody is ever held accountable because it was the corporation, not any one individual that's unethical. It's bullshit.

  • I do believe it was. It was a TP Link smart switch and it routinely needed updates or else it wouldn't work. The app was finicky as hell before and I don't really care anymore for it since it's main use was to turn on the bedroom lights automatically. But now I work 2nd shift so the sun is up anyway when I wake up. It works as a normal switch now.
