  • No were not doom spending. We literally don't have cash to save up. What else are we supposed to do? Live in a run down car by the river and not spend a dime on anything so we can pretend to have a retirement?

  • Anxiety about oversleeping because you had a bad phone once that would make the alarm just randomly not work so after several times being late to work you just wake up 2 hours early and can't get back to sleep

  • I left reddit due to the "um akshually" crowd that I'm starting to see here. Forgive me for not writing a 10 page essay as a reply and them trying to use information I ommited because it was barely relevant as a gotcha to prove they're still somehow more correct than me.

  • You don't need to launch the missile from the same point as the detector, you can launch closer to the aircraft

I am aware. Good luck getting those installations close when you detect it after it's already too late.

Even if you needed a lot more missile locations for non hypersonic missiles, it'd still be orders of magnitude cheaper.

Doubt. Logistics, munitions stockpiles, and crew to station them would more than likely add up to a lot more than just the cost of the missile. Even then a cheaper SAHR or even a more modern AHR missile may miss due low RF reflectivity from the stealth aircraft. It would stand to reason that a new hypersonic missile would have different or upgraded sensors that may stand a chance to track a LO aircraft once it's close enough. But all this is assuming they were even able to track it at all

  • Cheaper and slower missiles still need time to reach the target. At whatever mach the new bomber will fly at, there may not be enough time for a cheap missile to intercept the aircraft before it's out of range again.

But yeah this article is bullshit. I don't know what buzzwords they're using to name the missile's trajectory but I wouldn't take anything from China seriously. They're almost as bad as Russians when it comes to claims of their military hardware.

  • Even better! They'll sometimes tell you the wrong error message like my bank used to before they redesigned the front end and backend. I couldn't change my password there for the longest time because it kept telling me my password was not between 5-8 characters long (yes it was). Turns out I couldn't use a - in my password. I'm glad they finally updated to to a longer password but I still can't use a - in my password.

  • Had a bad situation with an employer that claimed to support people with mental health issues right in their job posting. They gave me more work by putting everybody else they wanted to get rid of on weekends and cut the amount of staff and made us all cover each other's jobs. In a call center where each job took at least a month of training. We were given a day's worth for each. Well I finally snapped after 6 weeks when I got literally yelled at by some vip for not knowing how to do a job where I wasn't trained in. And it wasn't like they weren't given warning. I had been talking to them trying to tell them I'm too stressed out to do this. My punishment for trying to reach out for support was for them to cut my pay but not the additional tasks they forced upon me. I walked out on them immediately after they punished me. This was a place that was toying around with not paying us for bathroom breaks. And I'm pretty sure working here hurt my chances at other job offers because I've had several interviewers see that company in my resume and roll their eyes when they ask about it because they've seen so many burnouts from that place they didnt want to risk another one.

Fuck this stupid fucking world. Fuck everything. I'm ready to just quit. There's nothing I can do to make my life enjoyable anymore. The game is rigged and they're not even trying to pretend it's not anymore.

  • How long would you say it took you before getting a fundamental understanding? I ask because I've been at this on and off for years but I always end up quitting because after a few months I just don't see any progress happening. I'm still forgetting things I learned 3 or even 4 times like how to do a for each loop.

But as you said it just takes practice. I've tried to find challenges that I could do and everything is just so overwhelming I have idea where to start. I see tutorials say to make a tic tac toe game or a calculator or to contribute to open source code. Which is good I suppose but all of it feels too advanced and I get lost on how to begin. For reference I'm currently learning html, css, and JavaScript. Advent of code was okay when I tried but once I got past the first handful of challenges it quickly went way over my head with sorting algorithms and how to make maps out lists for the elves to move or whatever.
