  • Spinning platter capacity can't keep up with SSDs. HDDs are just starting to break the 30TB mark and SSDs are shipping 50+. The cost delta per TB is closing fast. You can also have always on compression and dedupe in most cases with flash, so you get better utilization.

  • I personally think headlight brightness peaked just before LED became mainstream. Through the mid teens companies were installing projector headlights. I had a 2014 Corolla with projector headlights so bright that I got non-stop flashes from opposing drivers.

  • Property tax rates are based on how much your city/county needs to operate. Property values change, but so do mill rates. Most cities aren't allowed to take surplus tax, so they tweak the mill rate when property values fluctuate.
