  • I found the specs a bit interesting. 52.7 kWh battery and a curb weight of 3,600 lbs is nearly identical to the Chevy Bolt, but this only has a range of 150 miles instead of 240. Is it really that much less efficient? The only thing I can think of is the aerodynamics, but that's a 40% difference.

  • The sad reality is that, for the vast majority of people, that window closed a long time ago. Very few countries are willing to accept the number of Americans that want to leave. Even fewer are the types of countries that most Americans would want to move to.

  • Are you asking grammatically or procedurally?

Others have answered the former. As for the latter, supporters will now collect signatures from Ohio voters. If they collect enough (IIRC, 5% of the number of people that voted in the last governor's election), then it will be on the general ballot in an upcoming statewide election. If it passes, it will be adopted into law.

I haven't looked at this one specifically, but they are usually an amendment to the state constitution. That makes it harder for legislators or judges to override the will of the people.

  • The issue is that, while x265 is more efficient, it's not THAT much more efficient until you get to 4k or high bitrates. Encoders using x265 tend to be overly focused on file size, and prioritize it over video quality. And that sort of makes sense - x265 needs a lot more decoding power, and excludes a lot of otherwise capable devices. Why would you do that to only save a small percentage of the space needed?

  • Why do they keep making them like that?

    Because you keep buying them.

You had a choice of buying clothes with bigger pockets. Regardless of the reasons or trade-offs, you chose the ones with the smaller pockets. It's the same reason that women's clothing often lacks pockets.

  • At 16, her personality is visible, and her taste in partners has probably shown. If she's into guys with ties to drugs, violence, etc, this might actually be a step up.

It still has the glaringly obvious issues OP was asking about, but you don't always get to choose the cards you're dealt. This could be the least harmful choice available.

  • There is so much additional context needed to say with any confidence. The first thought would be that he can be a good provider (i.e. money) and her other prospects are not very promising. Another could be power, and how that could be extended to the family.

There's yet another possibility that they aren't actually ok with it, but are only presenting that face in public. Teenage girls are notoriously hard to control, and this might be the fastest/easiest way to get her to end it or learn a lesson.

There are still a number of other possibilities, many involving religion, that there's no way to know which might apply to your situation.

  • There was a prototype CD add-on for the SNES. Due to a falling out, it was eventually released independently as the Sony PlayStation.

This was immeasurably more successful than the Nintendo CD could've ever been.

  • Thinkpads are extremely well documented. For how to repair/replace parts, you need the HMM. Just Google for "Thinkpad t14 Gen 1 HMM" and you should find the official PDF on their site. That will tell you, step by step, how to replace the keyboard.

As for the part itself, you can again check Lenovo's site for all compatible parts (FRUs) and find the item number and details. While I wouldn't recommend buying directly from them due to cost, this should give you the information needed to find it elsewhere. eBay has tons of Thinkpads being sold for parts, and many of these will be parted out. You should have no issues finding what you're looking for.

  • As others have mentioned, it refers to the gear shift. But it actually has a meaningful origin - many years ago, the gear order was not agreed upon. Many cars had a gear shift that was PNDLR (which I've heard pronounced "pendler"), where reverse was at the end. At the time, it was useful to tell the difference between a PRNDL and a PNDLR shift.

Of course that was all before 1971, when PRNDL was mandated by the US government.

  • There are some public numbers on how many occurrences are found each year on the major platforms.

IIRC, Facebook deals with around 75 million reports per year. Twitter, Reddit, and others were around 20 million reports per year.

I don't know how many are dealt with on Mastodon or Lemmy (or how you'd even get reliable numbers for that), but something tells me it's a lot less than the bigger platforms these days.

  • You are helping - they clearly need the additional training, and you're doing everything you can to supply that. Their job can't be relying on you.

They shouldn't (and almost certainly don't) have delegation authority.

For corporate bingo, the keywords are upskill, cross-training, and bus factor.
