Germany passed a number of laws in the wake of the Third Reich and the Holocaust. The idea being that if such speech was banned, it could prevent the next one from getting a foothold. It definitely sounds like this is what they're referring to

You're solving a very different problem. You're addressing how to make restrooms better for all members of Congress.

The bill in question is about how to publicly hurt a minority group, in order to galvanize their supporters.

Do you have a source on that?

It can be because of certain individuals, but it must apply equally to all.

You didn't usually see it applied to a real person, but there are countless examples of it being applied to large corporations. For example, Florida can (and has) passed laws that apply to (e.g.) all amusement parks that operate their own emergency services. It was pretty clear that it would only affect Disney World. But at least in theory, it would apply to any others that opened up.

It would be interesting to see how that plays out in court. That clip shows that the CEO himself is aware of the concerns, and refuses to address them. It also implicitly acknowledges that the reasoning was because of those issues, and not a conspiracy to harm ex-Twitter.

But Dr Drew is a reasonably competent doctor.

More importantly, would he be an obedient servant of the king, and follow his bidding (and delusions) without question? Because that's the only thing that really matters here.

Repeated ad nauseum? Only in the furthest left areas of the Internet did I hear it mentioned more than in passing. It was a very brief series of news posts. It came up in the debate, and he managed to brush it off as not being his. And everyone just let him get away with that answer.

I think you're massively downplaying how much of a hit this will be.

Let's say you make $100k/year. Think about the lifestyle it allows. You've just been informed that it's now going part time, and you'll only be making $15k/year. How far does that get you?

Now, you're expecting someone else to pay for that advertising spot, so it won't be that bad. But who is even eligible? Microsoft's Bing is the obvious answer, and probably DDG. The rest of the default search engines aren't even general web searches.

Do you really think that either of them are going to pay any significant amount to be the default? Especially when most people are going to change it back to Google anyway, since these are automatically people willing to change to a different browser?

Sure, they might be willing to pay something. But it won't be anything close to what they had before.

Once you get comfortable in your job and it becomes routine, you need to find a new one. Keep growing your skill set, and probably take a hefty raise each time.

Don't worry about being a job hopper - it resolves itself easily enough when you don't find the next position for a while.
