Some of my 25+ year old cd’s appear to have started “rotting” inside and playback has been compromised / ruined in many cases.

It is. Let me help you with your comprehension. The only real issues are that “all” and “he” are missing their vowels in two places and none of the names are capitalised. If that makes it illegible then that is on you. Sure, it helps if you already know (Fred) Degerberg and what PBS, Shuriken and Arnis means but we do have search engines.

I was expecting more answers along these lines. Slightly disappointed with the tangent that people’s answers have taken.

I remember that now you mention it. Bartering with a super power seemed crazy to me back then. It’s amazing how little seems to have genuinely improved for Russians (specifically) since the fall of the USSR - we had high hopes of a new age but… gestures broadly at the current state of Europe and shakes head.

Apart from the fact you can hide photos in your album this is so out of touch with reality… applying stop and search with your kids. Imagine a high ranking police officer forgetting about how important trust is in any two-way relationship.

I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve stumbled into this instance and every post has been… eye-opening for me. I believe it’s all perfectly genuine though.

That I will ignore 30 years of accumulated knowledge and experience - and all the relevant laws - just because they really really really want me to build something their way, and that they tell me it’ll be fine. If an experienced professional says “no” there is a good reason for that… we’re not just being obstinate.

I’ve driven tens of thousands of pozidrive 2/3 screws into timber with an impact driver. For whatever reason my experience is the diametric opposite of yours. Big up the Pozidrive massive.

Funnily enough in Russian the word for train station is Vauxhall… spelt Russian. People say that Russian engineers studying in London mistook the name of a specific underground station - Vauxhall - as the generic word for station and imported it into their language before anyone realised the mistake.

Damn. I’d forgotten “straight” or “bent” were once the only options (looking at you, 1980’s) . Language moves quickly to adapt.

I’d like to apologise now for when, in the future, I place a “parody” sticker on a genuine social media post. I know, there’s something wrong with me… but I thought I’d give you a heads-up about it as you seem pretty reasonable.

I’m not sure exactly what the “top level comment rule” is and saw nothing in the side bar that mentioned it. I just wandered in here from my instance… and have now wandered back out of here. Enjoy your day.
