  • The card I have now was purchased explicitly for handoff and continuity support in macOS for a hackintosh project.

  • I’m running Linux full time now, but I kinda wish I had kept that MacBook for asahi as a war driver .

  • I’m currently using broadcom-wl, and I was wanting to price out a more Linux appropriate adapter, but I want a pci-e card that is capable of monitor mode/packet Injection and just haven’t been bothered to actually look that hard. Just made me grateful despite the hiccups that it is as easy to get going as it is.

Basically load any distro and use Bluetooth or wired mobile hotspot to get proper Wi-Fi working and go from there.

  • Thanks for reminding me, I totally forgot about this period

  • I liked the arm MacBooks. I used to get 17 hours off a charge with moderate use web browsing, decoding YouTube videos, and driving a 4k display.

  • It’s not like they are plaintext, and increased availability/ redundancy would be one potential reason for deciding to have a cloud synced password manager database.

There are other solutions that you can self host or create yourself, and if that works better for you and your use case, I encourage it.

  • And way more private by accepting Monero and requiring no registration, but they don’t have solutions for my Calandar, Cloud Drive, email with custom domain, etc. hence “drop in google replacement”.

  • A 90 year old food not bombs member sued for first amendment violations and violations of the freedom of religion law in Florida.

  • “Let’s take a community with a history of mental health issues and a general distrust of law enforcement and require them to get aid next to the police department.”

Aid program dies and is used to justify cutting budgets of stressed aide programs

Edit: cause I used the wrong aide

  • For a general user that just wants a comprehensive google replacement, proton unlimited at $12/mo is a pretty good deal. Comes with the VPN premium and a password manager (now).

  • Ever since Catalina and 32x support dropped it became nearly impossible to tell someone with a straight face you could game in a macOS environment. I used to love flaming pc and Xbox gamers with the knowledge that Halo was originally developed to be a Mac exclusive, and loved pointing out the long list of good ports for the Mac like Fable: the Lost Chapters, Spore, Warcraft, Call of Duty, etc.

  • I recently found a fan recreation of a RTS game from around this time called Lego: Rock Raiders (The remake is called Manic Miners if anyone is interested). Would’ve been really cool to have similar fan remakes for StarCraft and Warcraft but with some of the actual code to port the engine up like GZDoom.

  • Unique device identifier would be some information unique to your device that can identify it. A common example of such a unique Id would be your IMEI although that isn’t necessarily what they are using. Minecraft as an example creates a unique user ID based on your account that system administrators can use to keep your player records even after you change your Microsoft account name or gamer tag.

It doesn’t have to be specific data related to your activities in the app per se, but it could potentially be used in that manner depending on the app.

  • You mean you didn’t want to spend 10-20 cents per tweet and per reply to you and from you to share 140 characters a pop to the internet?

Glad I wasn’t the only one.

Shit never made sense to me either.

  • “Todays lesson is about bodily autonomy and your inalienable right to exercise it!”

  • These people have spent decades pretending that Thomas Payne et all were good little Christian fundamentalists who thought that Christian rule was such a no brainer they just never thought any other religious group could exist, and that it is a foregone conclusion that all of law and order was divinely inspired by Judeo Christian thought and values, and didn’t exist prior, because nothing existed prior to their Stone Age fan fiction.

  • Someone I know just got attacked by their pit Bull, they are justifying it by saying the dog had brain cancer and didn’t know what it was doing. I personally don’t get the mental gymnastics that you have to go through to say that they are perfectly safe dogs that just get a bad rap when you literally just got your arms flayed off by one.
