Been using Magic Earth with Android Auto, and it's been working great. I prefer it over Organic Maps. While I prefer Organic's privacy focus, it was laggy on my phone and search also was more fussy and difficult to find things.
I love offline maps. I only have data enabled when I want internet access.
Magic Earth can do directions for walking without data enabled. Google Maps with an offline map still requires data to generate a route for walking.
And whatever crypto tech is enabled is irrelevant. The Australian government has already enacted laws that can force anybody in Australia to backdoor, hack or whatever to access anything they want.
Anyways, it's just obvious that you access the data BEFORE it is encrypted. Quantum encrypt/E2EE it however you want after I already have the data.
I will not give up my command line, obscure, non-obvious commands that control my machine!
It is an abomination that I don't have to search for, and then wade through hundreds of AI generated pages of useless information just to show me what services are running with systemd!
I am seriously considering starting my own startup system. I am thinking I could initiate (init) runlevels to start subsystems at various stages. If anyone is interested, hit me up.
If you have some light oil, eg sewing machine oil, or silicone spray, that might be better. Work it back and forward a few times to distribute it evenly.
But be careful applying those. They can be messy. Less is more 😉
