  • I'm also on this boat also. moved here from the West Coast and feel completely scammed here in Boston. it's actually insane too because most of the people here have bought into the completely corrupt politics that have caused the housing market to get to this place. if you ask people here, most will say they prefer Boston housing because of "tenant protections" and that brokers provide an essential service in such an impacted housing market. those guys are fuckin donkeys. the Boston housing market exists on the backs of students who cycle through apartments at a huge rate every year, and the broker industry makes a killing abusing poor college students into paying brokers fees when they move every year. every industry involved in the Boston housing market is in cahoots with this system. they're all criminals in my view. that on top of the fact a broker came into my apartment without permission to show my apartment and walked into my bathroom while I was showering. I was full nude and the dude waved at me and proceeded to show my bathroom to his clients on clients with me naked in the bathroom. criminals.

  • most CS "textbooks" are a scam these days I'm general. a huge red flag when I scan resumes now is actually if they have a textbook published without some sort of advanced degree or qualification to write a textbook. I get resumes of people a year out of college, work a junior position, and have a "Advanced JavaScript" or "JavaScript the not boring way" or "Complete guide to typescript" or some other quirky textbook name. if you actually click into any of these books, they're complete nonsense written by somebody who just copied another textbook from another idiot who knew nothing. all these people are over confident resume padders. in practice they don't know shit and didn't legitimately write a lick of the book. I've had some of these applicants claim their books are used by professors too.

  • I think they mean something along the lines of good programmers aren't big head know-it-alls. they admit when they don't know something, ask for help, and collaborate as opposed to claiming to be an all knowing monolith software god. we've all met those guys at work.

  • like I said, your teachers failed you

  • holy shit, so that's what that sound is?!

  • i know you look back about this and think of it fondly, but as someone who has worked extensively in pedagogy, your teacher sucked and failed you lol first of all, your teachers job as a PE teacher is to instill values of an active lifestyle. PE literally exists for a reason. ideally you try a lot of things out and maybe get a hobby, but also to learn about a general lifestyle of good health. that's why sexual health, mental health, etc are often part of PE programs in the US.

now, I'm not saying your PE teacher was a bad person. I'm sure they had a lot of empathy and knew your struggle. however, that's like saying your math teacher let you play chess instead of teaching you math. sounds great, but at the end of the day, it's a huge failing on the part of your educator. they ideally should've helped with the issues that kept you from enjoying PE and not let you off with an easy ride. you may not know it, but there could be a host of things you don't know about your own body or collaboration skills because you were playing chess instead of organized sports during PE. that's a huge, exaggerated stretch, but not unheard of. I just read an article about a couple who couldn't conceive for 10 years because they didn't know how to have sex. as weird it is to realize, most in the US learn this from PE. just an example.

  • if you're looking for a legit READING app, KOReader is the only way to go. especially if you have an ereader tablet too that uses KOReader too and/or use Calibre. I moved to it from Kindle + Kindle app on Android and I just have no idea what the purpose of Kindle is anymore unless you buy ebooks directly from Amazon. in which case you should... well.... stop.

  • there has been a slight shift in sentiment of liberal attitude and policy after a tumultuous time of controversy for the party in the last few years, particularly the Justin T black face incident coming to light and whatnot. but with that said, it hasn't swung the kids into full conservative social values that will make them vote conservative when it comes time to. this poll certainly is trying to capitalize on the zeitgeist instead of what people's actual values and actions are/will be.

  • can you even imagine? in these situations the kid would be lucky if it died first. if not, the kid was kept alive by the adults long enough for it to watch the adults die, then the kid had to die alone in the tent while it waited in the cold just for nobody to come and help. poor thing. I'm terrified just writing this out.

  • you don't need proof when you have ✨faith✨

  • what did you say? say that again to my face, I dare you.

  • it doesn't say it took place in America anywhere on there

  • well what else would you expect it to say when you never practice your elf magic?

  • is there enough moisture and heat in a hoohaa to slowly cook a grain of rice over time? say, a week? asking for myself

  • seriously, who made that jackass a meme?

  • where there are no security holes or flaws of any kind

this in itself is straight up impossible to know or prove. when can you say your program has no vulnerabilities? ever hear of zerodays? finding the best way to do everything in software will never be found or stay constant either.

  • there was video from CCTV and they also checked onboard computers and saw there were no attempts to slow down before collision

  • I just can't get myself to trust an ex Russian, offshore company with my dns traffic

  • no. Sync has always been an android thing
