  • How has this person still not been arrested, or at least fired from a critical security job?

  • Wait, the letters are clearly digitally added on top of the photo, but aren't they just used to label the tattoos on each finger?

    Not that would change anything...

  • One of the most basic pizza, the marinara (tomato, oil, garlic, oregano) is technically vegan and any pizzeria worth its name will have it on the menu.

  • Counter example: if you pick an Elder Scrolls game you can easily get 100 hours for a single playthrough. Then start again with a different class / race / playstyle for dozens of combinations. Not satisfied? They have one of the largest modding communities, for hundreds of hours of more gameplay.

You don't need online / multiplayer to have an immense amount of replayability.

Also, the argument was about what is considered a good hours/price ratio. If you are telling me that your standards are dozens of hours / $, then yo do have a bit of unrealistic expectations.

  • I feel you either have unrealistic expectations or are deliberately moving the goalpost of the conversation. A 80 hours completion time is considered pretty long, normal people take months to finish it (without counting replay times)

  • Yes, the point was that having real-time raytracing and realistic ultra-resolution rendering is not worth the cost either, when games with cheaper graphics are doing better (and also require less expensive hardware)

  • As gamers have called for more and more unrealistic standards of graphical fidelity, more and more budgets have gone to the legions of graphical artists necessary.

This is one of the things I personally like the least about modern games. I don't want ultra-high detail textures for 4K resolution that will be completely wasted on my not-so-new hardware. Instead, I'd rather have optimized games that don't intoduce 100+ GB of bloat and require me to set all the graphic options to minimum quality in order to run with a decent fps.

  • Compared to smoking? Probably.

  • Are the tariffs and the market crash not Trump's fault then? Who's fault is it, since you know?

  • Matplotlib + export to SVG + final adjustments in Inkscape is my pick.

  • Since we know it's a grift, is there anything non-billionaires can do to profit off the situation?

  • Anyone?

  • Maybe a factory reset

  • Remember they got a patent for catching monsters using balls just to start a lawsuit against Palworld, and if my memory doesn't fail me, they tried to patent some stupidly base mechanic in Zelda TotK (like using local coordinates for constructs).

I'm not sure they wouldn't try to get a patent for the concept of "handheld gaming console" because they came up with the Game Boy.

  • Nice mention of AdNauseam, here is a link:

    https://adnauseam.io/

It's based on uBlock Origin, so still state of the art in ad-blocking.

  • OneNote for office 2016 was a brilliant piece of software (for once). Then they gutted it out, moved it to the cloud and forced you to use the crappy win10 version.

That's more or less the time I switched my notes to Notion (first), then to Obsidian.

  • As much as this entire clown show raises ethical questions, I don't think anyone would risk to be charged of treason (or "domestic terrorism", that seems to be popular right now) on the basis of a shady group chat.
