  • I love skip to highlight, and I hate interaction reminders more than sponsored ads or ads. I especially hate the ones that tell you to like and subscribe at the very beginning when you haven't even seen the video to even decide if this is something you actually want to add to your feed or even liked.

It's so obnoxious. Without sponsorblock I'd be just exiting out a lot of videos.

Block tube is also something I've come to love, since there's some popular channels that always clutter search results even if you don't watch their videos. So removing them makes results more relevant instead of having to keep looking down the list for other channel videos.

  • Expect without even having the functionality of Android. If it at least took an approach like the Nvidia shield so it could be a full on Android tablet or gaming or media machine it'd be cool. But, just a barebones streaming device is disappointing.

  • I wish people would move away from the will be downvoted for this statement before saying something. It's just meaningless votes, and message is stronger without it than giving the impression of caring about karma or a willingness to stand by it regardless of reaction by not even acknowledging it.

  • At the very least even if it runs beautifully it ends up being an annoyance on Steam Deck and offline play interrupting your game session as though you are the pirate as opposed to an actual customer who paid. While the pirates laugh at the experience you should be getting.

  • Like Resident Evil Village before they fixed it.

It shouldn't be a problem if it's properly implemented, but games are so broken these days and take months to fix if lucky that it's insulting to paying customers. Properly implemented DRM is not a guarantee when games have been unoptimized even without it.

  • Thanks for the link. Yeah, just length alone isn't a good reason to dismiss a video since if something is interesting I'll watch it like that NFT video.

More just when it comes to the coverage around LTT it is at the end of the day just some YouTube channel being called out and the PR response getting whole flood of talking heads jumping on the bandwagon. It's one of the topics now that feels so run to the ground for what is gossip or opinion pieces that until there's either more concrete new evidence from within the organization or new content from LTT to talk about it's not the most engaging topic for a long exposé with there being no new revelation to be attention grabbing.

Which is the main reason why for at least just LTT videos the duration was a turn off in the current offerings of LTT focused videos with it being so over saturated. Of course, if it had Linus or anyone from LTT being invited to interviewed then yeah that'd be interesting.

  • First time hearing of that video. Is the name drop of that title meant to indicate it was a viral hit or something? Quantities of videos on YouTube are endless and constantly being churned out, so part of why people want some strong selling point when it comes to topics many others have covered and keep covering. Especially during phases when every youtuber seems to be covering the topic to take advantage of the algorithm.

  • I also have to say it's mildly ironic to criticise the "late" posting of the video, when one of the points raised is that of "post quickly / dubious accuracy" first-mover advantage content creation.

Kind of a hard sell is what I'm saying for someone to post some video that is 1.5 hours long without a huge selling point behind why this video should be watched in its entirety and what makes it so special over all the other ones. Especially if they dont even know the channel to begin with so is yet another random youtuber that's done a LTT topic video.

It's hard not to have a dismissive attitude towards a LTT topic video at this point when so many videos have been playing off the algorithm to draw views. Had seen one couple days ago where the channel said they got half their current subs after a LTT topic video.

  • I think is way too long and YouTubetranscript is the way to go considering there's been endless videos from youtubers covering the topic trying to take advantage of the search algorithm over the past several days.

So this topic has already been rehashed over and over again from various talking heads on YouTube. At this point unless it's someone who has had direct involvement with LTT and has some new revelation to add it's a pass.

  • Yeah, tech side is irrelevant.

Many people like worshiping prominent figures, and looking up to them for inspiration and socializing with other fans about their adoration and displaying signs of support for them. It's nothing unique to tech.

Kardashians, Trump, Rogan, etc. List is endless in all spaces.
