  • Tbf, it only makes good business sense to try and patent everything you can. Either to hold it as a unique selling point over competitors or to license to others.

I think the real problem here is the concepts of patents in general.

  • Definitely the vibe I got from this guy using the term heliophile and then after he asked if I knew what it was…. Explained it anyway, and how people always recoil at the use of the word.

I was just thinking, maybe they’re recoiling from your personality bro.

  • I always refer to myself as “a bit of an audiophile” because I went and researched a ton to get a particular amp and not your typical Sony speakers/ soundbar. And I just have particular interest in nice sound reproduction.

But my speaker cables are just about as cheap as you can get.

  • Random dude I was talking to mentioned he was a “heliophile” mid-conversation about weather. Dude thought he was so smart, cuz apparently no one ever knows what he means when he uses that term. He joked about people sort of recoiling at the sound of the word.

Anyway, I’d heard of helio and phile…. So he likes the sun. Uh, cool.

  • I heard that, at least some, donuts & pastries are not meant to be eaten warm because the warmed fats/oils make for an unpleasant texture (or mouth feel, s'il vous plaît)

KK though are pretty damn nice when fresh, or even microwaved for a few seconds

  • It’s amazingly bad at this, I suspected it’d be super good:

The image suggests an unlikely or whimsical situation, combining the energy and motion of swimming with the delight of a cupcake. Lyrics that could match such an image may talk about celebrating life’s pleasures, unexpected joys, or combining work with play.

A lyric that could conceptually align with this image might be from “The Ocean” by Mike Perry featuring Shy Martin: “We can float away all day long.” While it doesn’t mention a cupcake, it encapsulates the idea of floating or swimming in a carefree manner, which contrasts humorously with the disciplined sport of swimming while holding a treat like a cupcake.

Another fitting example could be lyrics from Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes,” which, while not about swimming, evokes a sense of indulging in comfort amidst the busyness of life: “Maybe we can sleep in, make you banana pancakes, pretend like it’s the weekend now.” It’s this same blend of leisure and delight that the image of swimming with a cupcake brings to mind.

Without a direct song reference, it’s challenging to pinpoint an exact match, but these examples capture a similar playful and joyful spirit.

  • The image shows a person swimming while holding what looks to be a cupcake. Given that this was created with the title of a song as a prompt, the song could likely involve themes of swimming, sweets, or a combination of the two that conveys a sense of joy or celebration. It might also be a play on words or a juxtaposition of concepts, such as swimming and eating, which don’t typically go together. One might guess a song like “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE, which involves both a sweet treat and a water theme, could inspire such a creative visual. Of course, the actual song could be something entirely different, as visual interpretations of song titles can be quite abstract and imaginative.

  • I don’t get how this isn’t a user choice, like on iOS. Getting dual selection windows is stupid. Also… why couldn’t you just use a system file picker? Why does it end up being extra steps. Doesn’t make sense to me.

  • Looking into a bit further, sounds like you’re SOL. This is the new behavior and you will use it for your own benefit.

Google going down the Apple route of choosing how you should use your phone.

  • It looks like the behaviour Apple recently added, you can give an app limited access to your files. So instead of just getting the file upload prompt, you get a system prompt first, that asks which files you want the app to be able to see.

The solution is probably to give that app full access to your files/photos

  • It’s just another option, don’t gotta use it. Maybe you find yourself needing something like this, and the only other choice is making it public. At least with friend classes, you know which classes are friends so you can go look for any dependencies
