I'm a teacher. I have that thought every single day.

Teaching as a profession sucks ass in general right now... but at least a lot of the special educator-specific bullshit is not my problem anymore. But thank you.

Someone told me that if I wanted to be a history teacher I should get a degree in special Ed to "make myself more marketable." It took 14 years to get out of special education and land a job teaching history

Every day, it gets scarier to be a teacher in this country. My state is fairly liberal, but who knows how long before they start book burnings and destroying the trust between my students and me.

It's the whole "edge of space" thing that really pisses me off. When the billionaires started talking about creating their own space program, I was expecting corporate settlements on the moon or Mars--dystopian, to be sure, but at least humanity would be making progress to the stars. But no, let's be content with charging people to get to the edge of space so they can go home and tell themselves they're astronauts.

Um... you do know that was after his career in the Obsidian Order, right? He was kinda exiled... I mean, I'd love to see a Garak-focused prequel series that also runs until the end of the Dominion War (because you never really ever leave the Obsidian Order), telling some DS9 plot points from his perspective... but I don't think the whole tailoring thing was ever more than part of a cover he learned as a spy that he turned into a pseudo-career during exile.
