  • Complete tangent, and obviously only a single case, but I know a woman originally from Crimea (now lives in the US) whose family is ethnically Russian, and she was happy when Russia invaded Crimea because she always felt Russian and never felt Ukranian. Anyway, just a single anecdote which does not necessarily reflect my feelings on the matter.

  • I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but I'm talking about the DARE program.

  • The comma after DC is superfluous, I think, but the rest of them look ok to me.

  • Uhhhhh... poop knife?

But seriously, I was a kid who had to go through DARE in school, and I did not know how much outright lying was part of that program. And because I was a goody-two-shoes, I believed everything DARE told me.

I was in my late 30s before Reddit presented me with facts that showed me that LSD does not, in fact, pool at the base of your spine and cause you to trip randomly for the rest of your life.

  • *gills gills gills

  • Now, I may just be a man, but the woman's arms on that last one don't look quite right. Is someone else holding the swords for her?

  • The first two seasons of Andromeda were ok. After that, it became the Kevin Sorbo show. From what I understand, he was always a pain to work with, but when he demanded greater control over the direction Andromeda took, things went downhill. I still haven't finished the series.

  • Oh, it has no chance in a Republican-controlled House, but that doesn't matter, because the Democratic leadership would never let it pass anyway.

  • NGL, I kinda want to see the dumpster fire of a show starring Kevin Sorbo, Tim Allen, and Scott Baio. As if the last two seasons of Andromeda weren't bad enough, lol

  • Maybe... Maaaaaayyyyyyybeeeee the Democrats need to nominate someone who is actually worth getting excited about instead of just being not-Trump.

  • Oh yeah? Then why doesn't the ref award anyone 10 yards on the play? /s

  • I've been teaching for almost 20 years at this point. Malicious compliance has a better chance of working than arguing with people who either don't have the power or the will to change anything or stand up for what is right.

  • Social studies teacher here. Aside from the obvious church/state problems with this, there might be an easy way around it for teachers: put up a poster with a dollar bill on it. Less conspicuous, still follows the letter of the shitty law.

  • I really want to live in the technologically-advanced, socialist utopia conservatives think mainstream Democrats are trying to produce

  • No, what's worse is that DeSantis isn't ignorant. He knows exactly what he's doing.

  • They won't do it for living people, so they wouldn't be able to honor the whole cast that way at this time

  • I'm a freaking history teacher whose father was a computer scientist in the 70s and I didn't know this until I read Hidden Figures

  • I'll admit. I clicked on this thinking it was because of doctors leaving due to strict anti-abortion laws. But nope! Just regular ol' medical-industrial complex greed!
