  • For amd64, Lemmy dev Dessalines pushes images to his Docker Hub repo usually right after a new version comes out.

Since they don't release arm64 builds anymore, I build them regularly and push them to my repo, which can be found here.

  • I'm not sure what to think about that instance. I saw some weird stuff in the mod protocol recently, if I remember correctly... Like some drama going on, etc.

  • RIP Terry Davis

  • Got it. Native Alpha is just specifically made for that and I think, it uses the system's webview.

  • I don't use Mulch, but for PWAs, you coult totally use Native Alpha instead. Did you try that?

  • I think, that's kinda redundant. This instance is a service, yes. It runs on FOSS. So...

  • FOSS is free and open source software that's not supposed to restrict you in any way. You can change it, modify it, redistribute it, etc.

  • If you don't want porn, but still want NSFW to be enabled, you can block entire communities by clicking the big red button in the sidebar on the website or by visiting the community within your Android or iOS application and see if there's a "Block Community" option.

If you block it on the website, it'll be blocked on all other means of access as well.

  • You must be American! 🤣

  • I'm sorry, but to me, it's not normal to be transparent to the bones for big tech. It's not normal to be pushed around by big tech just like Spez, Elon and Zuck do it with their userbase. It's not normal to be the product and to be followed around, often even without consent.

It's the opposite of normal to think that this is normal. To me, people who think this is normal nave been successfully brainwashed by big tech. Think I'm wearing a tinfoil hat? Okay, go ahead.

But if we don't finally step up against shit like that, it'll only get worse.

  • That was... purrfect.

  • As a dad, I think about this fact so much.

I still feel just like a kid with no clue about everything, but I still have to do stuff, because I'm responsible for my own kids now.

  • Very well composed and thorough explaination. Thank you.

  • With that logic, you'd have to go completely off-grid and not use any kind of messenger.

With Apples CSAM scanning and similar features that could be introduced in any OS we're using, no messaging app is really safe from spying eyes.

  • They'd be jeopardizing everything if they lied in such a situation.

There are still a few companies out there who truly stand for one's freedom and privacy. Look at what happened to Mullvad VPN, for example. They were raided and there was nothing to be found, because their no-logs policy was actually true.
