  • I'm sure it is traumatic but that denial doesn't relieve him of legal responsibility. Negligence that leads to death is often prosecuted criminally.

  • He's the face of the Republican Party in the Senate and has been behind some really reprehensible actions like stealing a Supreme Court seat, but you are correct that currently he's supportive of Ukraine. I wouldn't expect that to last if Trump or another Russian tool wins the Presidency. He wasn't nicknamed "Moscow Mitch" for no reason.

  • I don't think it's about corporatism. For a lot of them it's about religion. They want more babies for Jesus. From a more cynical point of view, the earlier a woman has children, the more damaging it is to her future economic and educational prospects. Poor uneducated people are more likely to be religious and conservative. It's a culture war.
