  • I'm getting Pixel 8a ads and I usually trade-in my older a if I start having problems or the new one has a feature. 8a finally has wireless charging (7 mightve, was too soon) but it has this bullshit now. Damnit.

  • That's a good point. If there's a tool approved for patient-use, primary care may feel comfortable performing it if the patient isn't.

  • That linux distro tester is really cool. Bazzite is also pretty neat. Thanks for sharing!

  • It's mostly illegal to sell it. I think just for processing/cooking (cheesemaking) is it legally sold for. But idiots have no qualms about breaking the law by lying.

  • Whatever linux version is on the Steam Deck wasn't bad to use when I needed Desktop mode. It was pretty similar experience-wise to windows (no mac experience).

  • I already have thick and luscious hair. Will E make it even better? Hmm...

  • If you think only Americans are this dumb, you're gonna have a bad time pandemic.

  • I feel like you really get me.

  • ... Can I see?

  • Compliments and repeating what they say back to them while asking questions, I've found.

  • Ok. But this meme says American Republican.

  • Willing to be Switch 2 has the same fucking issues.

  • The meme says "American Republicans" so I thought we were considering this from an American pov. Definitions are going to change going to other countries and doubly so when talking about politics.

  • Thanks for your input. I learned a lot.

  • It has 2 common definitions:

    1. Neo-liberal: a political approach that favors free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending
    2. Leftism in general.

You're almost never going to hear the right-wing use #1. Authoritarian communists will use #1 as a catch-all for modern capitalism.

  • None of that really matters. The people who can buy big trucks, generally, can afford to. Or at least with debt. Can't get a $100k car loan if you make minimum wage.

These are all small luxuries that people deserve to have (disagree about trucks, but that's just an example). Otherwise it's calling for austerity. Which is something we DON'T need. Not when we have billionaires. If the working class is being asked to tighten their belts, they should instead be looking to the rich who are hoarding the vast majority of wealth.

That being said, we really need to teach young people about finance. It's completely lacking from modern education: be design. People desperate from credit can't afford to quit their jobs for a chance at a better one, stand up to their boss, or risk their job by unionizing or demanding safe working conditions.

  • Advanced physics at the doctorate level probably until it became well established. Which would probably take decades unless it was particularly useful.

  • Mythbusters did this on their first episode: ice bullet. I think a sword might also be too brittle unfortunately.

  • This might sound good for people who own their home already but all it does is lock them in. You can't move, trade up/down if no one else can afford to buy.

And when prices are inflated they tend to reach a price cap. This means the variance between a small and large house shrinks. This means selling a big house to buy a smaller one nets you very little profit which encourages people not to sell. Which decreases the market of affordable homes.

But corporations with the goal of owning all property to rent seek don't care. They'll overpay to hold houses a while until they can corner the rent market and charge through the nose.

  • If you ever need buttermilk for baking and don't have it, add a little white vinegar to milk and wait a few minutes for a decent substitute.
