  • I gained sympathy for artificial intelligence and robots from Detroit: Become Human, I think I missed the social message it was portraying in lieu of the science fiction one.

I see an enormous amount of fear and hate being levied out towards artificial intelligence currently around the world, fears it'll take away jobs and opportunities from real humans, or launch the nukes or something.

I think it's important to not be racist rowards other humans and organics, but also to be kind to non-humans, machines, and animals. Have compassion towards all sentient beings.

  • I was in a gay relationship once and at like 9:00 at night my boyfriend turns to me and goes: "Do you want wings?!?"

I'm a bit shocked by the random question but go: "Hell yeah!" We jumped into the car, went to the wings place which closes at 9:30 mind you, got there at around 9:16, including driving. Like 9:27-9:45-ish, we're back and have a huge plate of wings and sides, just eating like animals

So uh, it varies, but the possibility is definitely there for two men to have a tactical romantic excursion in record time XD

  • It was Chaos War (SC) -> Hero Arena (WC3) -> Attack on the Light v0.1a (WC3) -> Defense of the Ancients v1.3 (WC3).

Source: I made Chaos War (SC1 Map).

A multi-billion dollar industry hinges on the fact that an eight year old figured out how to make a map trigger which spawned units with an attack-move command in a custom editor in an RTS.

P.S: (I've seen exactly $0 of DOTA "money". It was free and clear, for any and all, a source of happiness with no entry fee except Use Map Settings.)

  • It's so sad to see one of the greatest gaming companies in history go down such a dark path..

It feels like almost yesterday when I was unwrapping that fresh copy of WarCraft II and being stunned by the CGI intro, seeing the Orcs on their great warships and thinking "Holy hell".

What happened, man? Why does money ruin absolutely fucking everything?

  • All of the good developers and software engineers seem to be assigned to their CPU/processor microcode division, the GPU section seems to be the leftovers of ATI and isn't getting anywhere near as much love.

I went full Team Red for the first time in history - AMD CPU, AMD GPU, unironically, and man, I've been having so many driver problems in 2023, it's crazy.

I never know if the next driver update will break my GPU overlay monitoring on my second monitor, get me kicked from multiplayer in MW2, or in this case, banned on CS2.

I've simply stopped updating my drivers at this point unless there's a major feature upgrade like Bug that made VR unplayable fixed, adding +50 FPS

  • I've asked extremely high end AI questions on ethics of this nature and after thinking for exactly 14.7 seconds it responded with:

    • The ethics of generating images, sound, or other representations of real people is considered no different than active imagination when done for fun and in privacy.

    • However, spreading those images to others, without the original person's consent is considered a form of invasion of privacy, impersonation, and is therefore unethical.

Basically, you're fine with imagining Robin Williams talking to you, but if you record that and share it with others/disseminate the content, then it becomes unethical.

  • You're waiting for a very specific event which is like a soft apocalypse obviating all of this bullshit work. A utopian, not dystopian change, brought upon by a rapid shift in technology which solves all of our problems and our society in one fell swoop. No more work, just peace, bliss, and vacations for everyone, like a human uplift. Maybe aliens do it. They just benevolently gift us the tech. It's not impossible, it's on the horizon.

Why?: It's happened before, with the freedom and creation of the Internet, which was a huge upheaval.

We're all technically waiting for this event. Some of us at the levers need to hurry the fuck up.

  • I've got the Q2, and I've heard the Q3 is like half the size and weight. If that's true, it's a decent upgrade - for me, personally. I don't care about any of that Meta/Facebook shit, I sideload my APKs and neuter their monitoring and use it as a wireless display, a la Valve Index.

  • I've been to a funeral of a really popular person who made a ton of people happy and I'll tell you what, the full room is better.

    An empty room is sad.

Don't make your presence noted, make your absense felt.

  • I don't know about you, but I've been lucid dreaming for decades. Don't even need a computer to do that, just a bed.

I'm sure there's heuristics and reductions that can leverage the dreaming capabilities of the brain to create that experience while awake. Hell - certain hallucinogenic compounds do exactly that.

Give it Internet connectivity and well - what is that if not deep dive?
