  • It's not a gross oversimplification. If Russian aggression had really been that important there would have been a stronger reaction back in 2014, but back then our military industrial complex was already churning out profits for a different foreign engagement. -An engagement also against brown people.

  • It seems to me that when there's a need to give members of a firing squad "plausible deniability" then it's because someone on the squad knows it's unethical to participate in the first place and therefore makes one more argument in favor of eliminating the death penalty altogether.

-It seems similar to an argument against using a paralytic in the lethal injection. If the immediate audience is too squeamish or shocked to participate in such events then it's probably because those events shouldn't be taking place.

  • "I’m happy to trace this issue back to the founding fathers, but Bush v Gore was the beginning of the end in my opinion."

I share similar sentiments except with Citizens United V FEC instead of Bush V Gore. I can't imagine any meaningful change without removing private money from politics and I don't see how anyone can realistically remove private money when it's ruled to be protected by the first amendment...The only avenues I can think of involve packing the court or passing a constitutional amendment. Packing the court would require only slightly less cooperation from congress than an Amendment.
