Non-religious Republicans of Lemmy, how do you reconcile your non-religious convictions with a party that bases a lot of its policies on religion?

  • You know I voted for Hillary and Biden even though both trashed the idea of Medicare For All. That’s a huge issue for me, but you don’t really get to pick your politicians. You only pick the lesser of two evils. Republicans don’t like Dems. They might not love Trump or even Ted Cruz but for some people that’s their lesser of two evils. So I can’t speak for this other commenter but I can understand why you might vote for someone who doesn’t share your values

  • Ah man I set a fire once. So dumb. My friend and I ditched Hebrew school and lit some books and a bush on fire in a department store parking lot.

    Then we felt so guilty we called to fire department and confessed! The fire chief made us come in and take a fire safety class and write an essay. We were such dorks.

  • I’m honestly so glad to hear this. GOP is only digging Their own grave with this. Let them go hard. Let them loudly label every R with pro-life. They’ve lost almost every election local and National with that and they will keep on losing.

  • I was walking in flip-flops on asphalt when I sneezed. I opened my eyes after sneezing and my flip-flops were now behind me but facing forward and neatly arranged. What happened when I sneezed? Did I put my feet together, slide the backward to release the toes, jump up and then forward about 18”? All without noticing and in the span of one sneeze ?
