Yes they should have but didn't because of a vague law that does not lay out exactly when the mothers life is in danger. Does she have to be in pain? Conscious? Bleeding? Irregular heartbeat? Does the fetus have to viable? The law does not allow for interpretation so hospitals literally have to wait until the women is in cardiac arrest to act. So yes if this women was in any normal state with normal defined laws that don't restrict how doctors decide what their patients need. So yes they should have acted but couldn't.
The justice system is essentially on rails at this point. Don't know the actual percentage but very few cases actually reach the trail phase. Even the most ignorant and racist know to some extent that the whole system is rigged in someway. So they choose to be more passive when it comes to anything outside of voting Republican. So whatever morality still floats around in their subconscious turns them into little more than conservative NPCs. "Take party in a jury. Someone else can do that. Why should I care as long as I'm not on trial. The whole thing is rigged anyway. I won't take part!"
These people are disgusting individuals. They don't actually want to deport all immigrants. They want to solidify immigrants as second class citizens. Why do you think Trump picked a easily passable wall to build? The wall is a symbol of oppression, not a actual piece of infrastructure meant for safety.
I grew up in a farm town. The "illegal" immigrants that were my neighbors and friends weren't sent from insane asylums or rapist. They were normal ass people fleeing 500 years of colonialism, exploitative profiteering, western interventions, and outsourced violence due to "the war on drugs." When the local immigrants started to complain about the dangerous working conditions and low pay, all the farmers and businesses banded together and got most of them deported. The farmers and businesses were already working on getting replacements from Haiti and Ethiopia. Fast forward a few years and the new immigrants started to complain about the poor working conditions and pay. Rinse and repeat. They tried finding another exploitable population to import but couldn't find any none white and Christian people. Apparently, black and Muslim was just a step too far.
Most of the small farms and businesses were bought out by large corporations or went belly up and now these old people are fucking bitter. They march around the town with their Trump flags and hats complaining about how immigrants destroyed our town and harassing any immigrant that decide/were able to stay. I'm not even joking. These people aren't mad that immigrants are here, they are mad immigrants want to be treated like human beings.
Yup large industrial farming owned by a handful of corporations that are in turn owned by even fewer hedge funds and billionaires will cause this. Smaller farms, individually owned by actual farmers, actually care about the quality of their food and with smaller batches less people are harmed when mistakes are made. But large industrial farms? Poisoning/killing people and the small fines handed out is just the cost of doing business. A smaller farm operation couldn't allow their reputation to be harmed in this way. Larger operations have a pseudo Monopoly on the market, so if people want onions they have to do business with the people serving literally shit drenched onions.

US food production is disgusting. We are shoveling food no other nation would accept as edible even for their pets. These outbreaks are a feature not a bug. Except more of these outbreaks as we lead the spear of this doom spiraling economic system. Either the literal poison we eat will kill us eventually or we wise up and say enough. Eating in America is next to impossible to do for the average American because the healthy options are unaffordable.

Condoms are literally a public heath necessity. Even more so in states that banned abortion. My state provides free contraception to teens, and the drastic drop in stds and teen pregnancies paid off the funding for the program in months. Over the years tens of billions will be saved by my state.
