TIL about Earl Silverman, a domestic abuse survivor who founded a shelter for men. It was denied funding from the government and he was ridiculed. The shelter went bankrupt and he died by suicide

  • Fair point about the light pollution. In my town they've been replacing the street lights with LED versions and it seems the beams are now more concentrated and lighting the street instead of everything in the proximity.

    I hope a change like this may happen to your street in the future.

  • In general, yes. But someone committed suicide because of her. They helped her found the company and were a long time employee until they were called as a witness in a court case and as a result got sidetracked in the company while the court case dragged on. At least that is my understanding.

    His name was Ian Gibbons.

    I've recently learned to use the packets to apply to the fry just before I put it in my mouth. Makes it so there is always the same amount applied to the fry. Pretty nice actually
