  • There were very few missions where I didn’t knock every Nazi out, but I also just barely started the Egypt section

  • They could have mentioned Ukrainian Airlines 752 which is far more topical albeit tangentially related

  • Konami and Nintendo? Yeah I agree they’re too litigious. Still, it’s trivially easy to emulate though.

  • Nintendo isn’t the developer though. Having a hard time figuring out where “Global Game Studio” is based out of.

    Also, byebyepaywall.com is your friend

  • Luckily those things aren’t dead, you can still play them!

  • While it’s not historically accurate, I’ve been enjoying the new Indiana Jones game. You have a mystery to uncover and beating up Nazis is never not fun. There are lots of hidden items and puzzles to uncover, many of which do have some basis in history or at a minimum in mythology.

The first large area you go to is the Vatican. Being able to walk around the Sistine Chapel just to find a hidden passage the next building over was a trip.

Edit: I just realized I’m in patientgamers, my mistake. Come back to it in a year or two!

  • Yeah I’ve only learned at work by bashing my head against the wall whilst complaining about bad documentation

  • Otto Wels was a bad candidate because the German electorate liked fascism more than a socialist. This isn’t an attempt to persuade, I am merely screaming into the void.

  • That limelight video was pretty cool. It’s no wonder theatres were constantly going up in flames

  • My personal favorite metal band name right now is Tomb Mold. Helps that they’re good. Love telling people outside of the fandom that one, always good for a laugh

  • Interesting. I wonder if that’s a component of Stockholm syndrome

  • Yeah. I watched a documentary that recently came out about the tsunami and the numbers were just staggering. What’s crazy to me too is I never knew that tsunamis will refract around land, so when it hit Sri Lanka it wrapped around and hit the western side of the island.

I felt terrible hearing the accounts of the scientists that worked at the pacific tsunami warning center. They didn’t even realize a tsunami of this magnitude was possible in the Indian Ocean at the time so they were completely unprepared. They had no governmental contacts for the nations in the area and were desperately calling what government numbers they could find and just hoping that someone on the other end would know English so they could warn them. In the end they were only able to warn Kenya and Madagascar, I believe.

  • Being contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian doesn’t make one interesting

Edit: I gotta look at usernames before I comment

  • I still want a horror game take on a marine surviving a flood infection on a ship. It could be dead space with still some element of halo that I think could really be a slam dunk. Theres a halo short story called Mona Lisa which is basically this premise.
