I don’t understand how someone in the comments says they’re tech literate but can’t figure lemmy out. Federation is somewhat akin to email. It’s really not all that complicated, imo, just a bit of extra friction at the onset to pick an instance.
I used to party occasionally with the women’s rugby team at my college; one of my roommates was on the men’s team. I’d say at least 75% of the women’s team were gay. Once they realized we were alright and not there to be creeps, it was a real good time. People who play rugby are nuts. The men’s team was actually thrown off campus the year after I graduated for accidentally starting a riot. Ugh, I miss college.
I had a teacher confidently tell the class that Mt. Everest didn’t border China (well Tibet really, but that’s a battle for another day). I will say she was able to concede she was mistaken. I had another teacher hit on me when I was in high school while I was alone with her in the copy room. I had always heard some salacious rumors about her, but I always assumed they were just idle gossip until that day. That was a different kind of wrong. And no, I didn’t take her up on the advance.
I’m assuming English isn’t your first language, so just as an FYI, wrongest isn’t a word. “Most false” is probably the best fit in this instance. Just one of those weird quirks of this bastard language.
Authored by “Reddit_lies”. Links right to their X account where they have a Bible verse in their bio. I’m sure they’re well equipped to give an impartial read on the situation. No possibility that those posts are agent provocateurs, nope. None at all.
You’re already on a decentralized platform that can be used to help with that. You can also make plans with a close group of friends/family you trust to figure out ways you can help resist. Use encrypted communications platforms to talk to them. There’s plenty of ways to do stuff beyond apathetic doomerism.
Have you donated 7+ figures to Donnie? Maybe sprinkle in some leveraging the social media platform you own to help spread propaganda? How concerned are you with the cost of eggs?
They turned to stop and inspect the vehicle and noticed a pungent smell coming from the trunk. They asked the three Russian national occupants, aged 27, 29 and 39, to open it up.
This has me imagining some type of spoof comedy about the Russian mob and their illegal wild garlic harvests going up against the Mexican cartels and their avocado racket.
I've got some bad advice for you, little buddy \
Before you point your finger, you should know that I'm the man \
If I'm the fuckin' man, then you're the fuckin' man as well \
So you can point that fuckin' finger up your ass
All you know about me is what I've sold ya, dumb fuck \
I sold out long before you'd ever heard my name \
I sold my soul to make a record, dipshit \
And then you bought one
All you read and wear or see and hear on TV \
Is a product begging for your fat-ass, dirty dollar \
Shut up and buy, buy, buy my new record \
And buy, buy, buy, send more money
Forced to flee for having a divergent opinion, fucking dumb even by Taliban standards
Edit: thinking about this some more, I feel like this situation perfectly encapsulates why authoritarianism is so self destructive. You end up with a rigid set of ideas that are completely inflexible. Reality must bend to the ideas of the party rather than the other way around, until the party’s line becomes so incongruent with reality that things come tumbling down in an instant. It’s a shame the Taliban seem ok with Afghanistan remaining impoverished so long as they can continue treating women like shit.
This article articulates what I’ve been feeling as a gamepass subscriber. I was able to get through the rough years without feeling cheated thanks to the three year conversion trick making Gamepass cheap as hell for that period. Nowadays I just look out for good deals for codes online to keep it under the retail subscription cost. If I play enough of these games in a timeframe my subscription feels like a good value. Thankfully there’s an abundance of games now. Really looking forward to Avowed
