  • Why install another bit of software when a simple alias will do the job nicely?

  • a linux version of chkdsk

Maybe so they can check their NTFS drives without rebooting to Windows. If it checks Linux file systems, we have fsck for that.

  • Yeah, but they didn't get it on the carpet!

  • Ah, so not the information panel then. I don't know of a single application that does image editing, pdf viewing, and scanning. There are applications for all three individually.

  • Dolphin has the information panel which is activated by pressing F11. I don't know what more mac preview does.

  • Using nvidia on endeavouros here with no problems. The drivers rebuild with every kernel update and it's as smooth as gravy. Before external sync was merged, they were problematic on wayland but fine on xorg.

  • That's what the Arch news is for, it's not like it wasn't publicised. Arch often needs manual intervention and reading the news before updating makes it easy as they tell you exactly what to do.

  • I'm not saying I think it was malicious, just that I'd no longer assume it wasn't

  • Since it is open source… I guess we can rule out an intentional back door.

Well, once upon a time I would have agreed with you but the xz backdoor changed my mind on that.

  • Practice?

  • I would go so far as to say, that cat is furious!

  • Found the Java programmer...

  • Konsole, because it fits in nicely with Plasma (as you would expect) and does everything I need a terminal to do.

  • I was making a macaroni cheese and had just grated the cheese, turned around to put the block back in the fridge and when I turned back, Greebo was face down in the cheese munching his way through it. I stopped him and because of the lactose thing, checked with the vet who said to look out for constipation or diarrhoea but he was fine, and I was a lot more careful after that.

  • I read that as alliteration, which works wonderfully!

  • I usually kept all the doors in my house open so the cats had freedom to roam. I went out one day having mindlessly closed the door between the front room and the back of the house. When I got back a few hours later, Percy had tore a hole in the carpet and was still going for it. When I opened the door, he went and settled on the bed. I still have that hole to this day.

  • Judging by those eyes, you should be very afraid!

  • That's never stopped them before.
