    Soon everyone had exited the church except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew without moving, seeming oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy was in his presence.

    So Satan walked up to the old man and said, "Don't you know who I am?" The man replied, "Yep, sure do."

    "Aren't you afraid of me?" Satan asked.

    "Nope, sure ain't," said the man.

    "Don't you realize I can kill you with a word?" asked Satan.

    "Don't doubt it for a minute," returned the old man, in an even tone.

    "Did you know that I could cause you profound, horrifying, physical AGONY... for all eternity?" persisted Satan.

    "Yep," was the calm reply.

    "And you're still not afraid?" asked Satan.

    "Nope."

    More than a little perturbed, Satan asked, "Well, why aren't you afraid of me?"

    The man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for the last 48 years!!..

  • I put my head under the tap with the coldest water. Inlet it run over my the base of my skull for minutes at a time. Within an hour, it was gone. I was shivering, but didn’t give s shit.

    It was a shit-kicker of a migraine too. Day and a half before I tried the cold water thing. Puking. Sight-loss. Bad!

  • Canadian here. This is, for many provinces the worst year ever recorded for forest fires. One fire is larger than our smallest province. It’s very bad. Not sure there is a “normal” though as each year can be highly variable, and different measures for what is normal. Gonna get worse too as we move into the coming few years, imo.

  • I recall a while back, there was a few papers on measuring gasses caught in ancient ice cores. Something like that anyway, but what stuck with me was the realization, revealed in the data, that CC happens, FAST! Decades, not hundreds. Never forgot that.
