  • I worked with an old Navy veteran at the time of the J6 riots. We didn't know about it while we were working, but we both watched it on TV in our hotel rooms. Now this guy was extremely conservative. He once told me that the only thing he's found to be consistently true in life is that you can never trust a Democrat. The next day we got some coffee and I asked him what he thought about it.

    "They should have been shot."

He was also mildly racist against anyone who wasn't white. I asked him what he thought would have happened if a group of black people had pulled that shit.

    "They would have been shot."

  • Guh. All that sucks. I have some friends who were born in India, and they have told me the worst thing about being from that culture while living in the US is random Indians asking them to do things or give them a discount or even free stuff. Not all Indians do this of course, but it's enough to complain about.

  • Where are you now if you don't mind? I absolutely hate haggling. I've read that in Persian society if you don't haggle three times you are being rude. I'm not trying to be racist, and I may have remembered wrong, but this sounds like hell to me.

  • A good list to start would be the ten Democrats who voted to punish Al Green. They are:

Ami Bera of California, Ed Case of Hawaii, Jim Costa of California, Laura Gillen of New York, Jim Himes of Connecticut, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, Jared Moskowitz of Florida, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington and Tom Suozzi of New York

  • Nah, we're past that point. People are gonna get hurt. People are already getting hurt. I say shut the government down just like the Republicans did so many times before. Be as obstructionist as they have been. Filibuster everything. Let's see how they like it. If the only thing we get out of it is a Democrat congressional majority in 2026, then we can talk about stopping the hurt and stabilizing the country. That's IF there's a real election. And IF the Cunt d'Orange hasn't assumed all power by then, rendering Congress ceremonial, or even vestigial.
