For me, I was a kid in the 80s/90s and I (thought I) didn't know a single gay person personally. So many people were in the closet back then.

I didn't really say fag much but for us kids, gay meant lame. "That's gay" - I would hear or say it many times a day. It didn't even mean homosexual, although once I got older I could see how it was harmful. Once people I knew came out and I knew gay adults I made the conscious decision to stop saying it.

That's not what lame duck means. And sending people to prison in Guantanamo Bay, El Salvador, and Panama is pretty significant. They can't even find one of the legal guys who has been ordered to be returned to the US. US (possibly world) heading for economic recession if not depression. Inflation and lack of work like you've never seen unless you're 100 years old. We've got an anti vaccine fuckwit in charge of healthcare. An unelected oligarch has dismantled large portions of the federal government. They've got their eyes on social security, Medicare, and Medicaid. It's certainly not nothing.

If everyone voted the Republican party wouldn't exist.

You can't possibly believe that everyone begging for money is not actually homeless. If I take your comment more charitably, you think some percentage of people begging are faking homelessness. How can they possibly own a home on the pittance given to them begging?

Several times in the US I've been told that people flying a sign are actually rich from all the money they are given. Totally absurd but people believe it. Mansions they don't live in is on another level though

I have a shark vacuum, I don't know the model. It's really good for two reasons. First, it slides down low profile to go under things easily. Second, it has a three foot long detachable suck stick so you can get bigger stuff or get down in cracks. It's great for around the litter boxes. 4.5 stars because things could always suck more.

It's very front of mind because these are the "interesting times" from the Chinese curse. Even people I've always known to say they don't pay attention to politics, can't watch the news it just makes me sad, etc. These people are talking politics every day. It's hard not to.

How does that make any sense? Wouldn't have. "Have" not "of" holy shit. Make it a contraction if you want, like "wouldn't've". That's how most of us speak.
