I was more thinking sand dune deserts, Lawernce of Arabia style. I'm sure you can see the differnce of temp between that and a beach. My point was just to say you can't just blanket statement summer without considering location.

Eh, depends on location. Summer at the beach is awesome. Summer in a desert, not so much.

Oakland has a fair amount if you're not scared by non-white people. Delicious food, some cool parks, lots of venues. Just don't be wandering in people's neighborhoods causing problems, but thats true for everywhere.

Nah fuck mosquitos, specifically the genus that sucks blood, which is a subsect. They don't even add to an ecosystem and its been widely theorized they could be wiped out without environmental harm, but only benefit.
