    Because that would be a great way to boost the new service exponentially.

  • I think it happens because you can't specify the right community. I once tried to create a post on this community and it wouldn't let me.

    I read that you may need to be subscribed to post into a community, not sure if that's true I haven't tested it properly yet.

    I've never had a Facebook or Instagram account in my life. But I do use WhatsApp because it's the main way most friends and family communicate (Australia).

    I would not be happy if I found out I suddenly had a Threads account that my friends could follow without me even signing up, just because I use WhatsApp!

  • Me too. I kept changing between Connect, Jerboa and LiftOff.

    But over the last couple of days Connect has pulled into the lead and I find myself sticking with it at the moment.

    Waiting for Sync though!

    • Do you think Android will one day become so restrictive that sideloading (installing apps outside of Playstore) will become extremely limited, or completely banned?

  • For "official" Android products, maybe eventually.

    In fact I can see a future where all computing/devices are locked down and become appliances, much like your tv or fridge.

    You use them how you're "meant to". Sideloading? Programming? Tweaking? Why do you need to do that, are you a terrorist?

    I hope we don't get to that world, but for a while now I've been thinking it looks like a possible outcome.
