The world is not getting more stupid, cross-generational memory has always been flawed. If we want to give new generations the tools to build a better future, we either need to teach them to learn from our collective experience (history) or to think of consequences ahead of time (futurology and ethics). Otherwise they are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
I work with teenagers with autism. I have tried so hard to understand Undertale, because they all love it so so much. I even used to stream me playing it so my students could tag along. I want to get it, but I just don't.
If anyone can explain me the appeal (better than my students did) I would appreciate it greatly.
There are still great places on the Internet, you just have to seek them out. It's the ones that are spoon-fed to you by the corporations that are soulless, adfilled shitlands.
Maybe we don't need 4K 60FPS video to show Mr. Beast giving away more crap. Just because we can up the quality, doesn't mean we should. Or maybe client-side real-time AI upscaling will make this a non-issue.
I'm still waiting for them to re-add a scrollbar for the mobile app podcast pages. Reported its disappearance multiple times the last two years, and just get empty answers from Spotify.
Relistening to old podcasts is a pain, when having to scroll through hundreds of episodes without a quick scrollbar.
