To be brutally honest, 95 was an eternity ago in microbiology terms. Human genome project didn’t complete till 2003. You must have some wild perspective on seeing us go from what are essentially a modern dark times to modern day

Fuck it, I’m saying it, I’m less productive when I work from home. I get to fuck off easier and I do genuinely miss in person collaboration on complex problems.

That said, I’m probably never going to work another job that is more than 2 day hybrid. If every company in the world decided they would go back to 100% in person, I’d have to go back to working harder but as long as some companies care a tiny bit about the wellbeing of their workers, there will be this continuous push/pull of most companies wanting to squeeze every ounce of juice out of every worker.

Tech is a weird industry tho. There are some companies that just rely on churn and burn through employees (cough cough spacex cough cough amazon cough cough). I’m lucky to have ended up in a specific sector where there is a lot of attrition due to frustration so they kind of just deal with the fact that they aren’t gonna get 100% out of everyone.

All that is to say is that there are some interesting dynamics at play and I’ll hold the line, but there is a grain of truth in there but fuck capitalism, not everything has to be done as efficiently and as profitable as possible. Let people just live and work and chill

I’d argue that the loss meme is unique in that people do their best to make it as abstract as possible.im sure I’ve missed so many loss memes cause there wasn’t a comment of “is this loss?”. There is something fun about the game in it cause I’ve seen some high quality attempts to sneak loss into other things

BTW, going to a trans positive therapist to talk about gender and asking a school to used personal pronouns can both be considered gender affirming care (I’m a foster parent, so have seen this stupidness firsthand). So yeah, I count my blessings every time they try to ban the fictional stuff

I think there is a world where he falls so far down to the rockiest of rock bottoms that he realizes the errors of his way. Then as a reformed asshat does his part to undo some of the damages he has done. I could picture a Rudy who says “trust me, I was 100% on on these ideologies and I can tell you why they were wrong”. I like to believe everyone is capable of change and capable of doing good. I hope he comes out of this a better person but I won’t hold my breath
