  • I thought the idea of brake lights becoming "larger" or "brighter" (like a bullseye design) depending on how hard you pressed the brake, was an ingenious idea of mine...

Nope. It's apparently been thought of plenty. Don't know why it isn't implemented though

  • I kinda forgot about that feature. Now I'm wondering if my 2015 Accord does the same, but I normally have the headlights on "auto" anyway (unless it's raining or something). I know my 2002 Hyundai did though

  • That's too logical. Even more logical would be putting money toward social reform programs, instead of blanketing everything under a prison system that does nothing to rehabilitate, and exists solely to punish

Surprised they didn't throw more charges for "endangering her newborn" by giving birth in a jail shower.

Edit: I guess the prison system doesn't exist "solely" to punish. It also exists to suppress any challenge to the status quo, extort money from vulnerable populations, and probably a whole list of other neat little "features"

  • I recently moved to a new place surrounded by leafy trees and realized I'll actually have to rake the yard, for the first time in a very long time.

But I also just bought a small leaf blower to clear the driveway after mowing... and you made me realize that it's... well... a leaf blower. I hope it's powerful enough, but I bet it'll still speed things up regardless

  • I have a silver Jansport that is probably a decade old now and is still used 3 times a week or more for work, as well as used for airplane travel.

I'm about to look into having the large zipper repaired (it still zips, but I just have to make sure it's aligned now), rather than buying a new one. Best backpack I've ever had

  • Not to be mistaken for the kitchen "miscellaneous drawer", filled with condiment packets, wrapped plastic utensils, other large kitchen utensils you rarely use but won't fit in the regular drawer, maybe an extra meat thermometer that you're not sure if it even works.

  • I also have a small kitchen toolbox under my sink. Tape measure, screwdrivers, an adjustable wrench, pliers, and a small hammer.

It's so I don't have to pull my large toolbox out from the closet in the other room, when I just need to tighten one loose screw. It's trivial, but a necessity for me now

  • That's exactly how they taught us in nursing school. If you try and hide the mistake by "scratching" it out, it's assumed that you're hiding something. A single strike thru with an initial; owning your mistake. Mistakes are expected, and so is being honest about it. Makes you think twice before writing anything half-assed

Granted, most of us don't do paper-charting anymore; but the EMR still tracks any addendum. Don't go writing bullshit that you're unable to explain

  • When trees look like things. There's one near me that looks like a camel... or a cow, depending on how you look at it. There's also one that looks like an AT-AT that got it's legs tied up, and is falling face-forward

  • Absolutely. I've tried to figure out how to force it to happen, but it's never the same. It's an organic whimsical moment of tiny little bubbles and it always makes me feel like a little kid for just a moment

  • The only thing I like the lemmit bot for is to aggregate some news links for me, as well as random TIL. Any of the lemmit bot communities that just link to reddit are an absolute waste of my time, and I block them. But I honestly don't see them too much
