  • The electric tax doesn't go towards fixing roads, though. That's why it needs to change, otherwise the only people paying into that are non-electric car owners.

I totally agree that the government shouldn't have more of our data, so I looked up how the pilot program worked and honestly I'm not too mad about it. There are 3 options:

    1. OBD-II device that reads your odometer and sends that in to be tracked. It has an OPTIONAL GPS which, if turned on, will make sure to only tax the miles driven in California (so it would not apply to miles while out of state). If turned off then all miles are taxed.
    2. Car Telemetry that's already in newer cars that can phone home and send the numbers in (This is my lease favorite)
    3. You simply take a picture of your odometer and submit it. No invasion of privacy and seeing where you're going. This is the one I like the best.
  • It really feels like "old man yells at cloud" vibes. It's a different medium that many people do genuinely like, and I find myself watching them as well when they pop up in my subscriptions. YouTube's push for them and the horrible app experience are worthwhile things to criticize, but shorts can oftentimes be fun to watch

  • Educations tends to be off the clock. I wouldn't expect them to let you work on schoolwork for a degree required for a promotion while on the clock either. My employer reimburses me for my continued education (CE) that's required to keep my licenses, but it's not something we get to work on during work.

  • Ah, I see. Because I don't have the same problems and suffer exactly like you I MUST be a classist prick who cares only for themselves.

Since you're so powerful and wise, and apparently know my whole situation, how about you get over here and rip my land-owning heart out of my chest since apparently that's the only thing that will appease you.

Wait, I don't own land. Because it's a fucking condo. That we lived in for years until we were in a position to get away from it.

  • Holy fuck man. Fuck off and go eat the rich. I'm not your enemy. You are owed no explanation or glimpse into the YEARS of family planning and medical problems we've faced to be where we are now. Just because someone is able to squeak their way into the game the world leaders play is not an attack on you.

  • Yes actually. Almost everyone who's toured in person has said the price is the right for the market, but they're generally not finding specific things they're looking for. We're a backup for one person right now, and the things turning people away are out of our control (HOA prices, neighbor to a public service). Couple people went for other properties due to the lack of AC in ours (Would cost $14,000 for a mini-split, so not cost effective while selling) and it's totally understandable.
