On the topic of fentanyl, if I may be so bold as to ask, do that many Americans genuinely give a shit about any fentanyl coming across any of our borders? I suppose those who do drugs that are likely to be cut with fentanyl, but as an American whose drug use consists of at most alcohol and legal weed, fentanyl isn't something I'm particularly worried about. I'm not saying it's not destructive or dangerous, but it's not something I ever feel worried about. Maybe I'm just too poor to be exposed to people who do the kind of drugs that get laced with fentanyl, or maybe I'm lacking more empathy than I realize, but while I've seen sad examples of people whose lives have been destroyed by opiates and fentanyl in news programs and documentaries, I also have a hard time not seeing the fear of Fentanyl as anything more than wealthy parents like Trump, who know their kids are doing cocaine or other drugs, worried that their kids (like Don Jr) will accidentally OD on some laced drugs, which again, maybe it's an empathy problem on my part, but maybe if you aren't smart enough to test your drugs maybe you shouldn't be doing them. I don't know, it just seems like dhe dumbest issue to tank the whole economy over (unless that was the goal all along, and you just want a boogeyman-scapegoat for an excuse). It's not that I even really care about "the economy" that much either, but I do care about ordinary people being able to afford housing and food.

Problem is, we can't just skip to that part of the story without being accused of being just like the J6 crowd. I hate what is happening, and don't want to say there's nothing that can be done, but unfortunately there's a bunch of people who aren't gonna wake up and get it until it hurts them personally.

For now, probably the best thing we can do is stand up for those in their crosshairs and support them however we can, while we wait for a bunch of the anti-woke crowd to wake up to the fact that they voted for the leopard that's eating their face. Now, there should definitely be a limit on how long we wait for them to wake up, but at the speed this leopard is going? I doubt anyone will be unscathed by Spring.

Trump is already running with the line that the helicopter/plane collision was somehow Biden's fault, even though Trump and "Justin Hammer" fucked with the FAA. That's probably why they are speedrunning this collapse, they want to claim they inherited a mess, and shift blame for the consequences of their actions.

To add to that, even though Trump complains about how the "mainstream media" treats him, in reality he has the actual mainstream media on his side (Joe Rogan, etc). Saw someone bring up a statistic the other day that pointed out that as far as audience reach: Kamala Harris would have had to appear on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC for 3 hours every night for two weeks, during prime time, to have the same reach Trump got from going on Joe Rogan.

Obviously that comparison is to cable channels rather than the broadcast channels the FCC has more authority to "investigate," but the allegations of "unfairness" are entirely out of touch with modern reality.

Thank you for this, I had heard/read a ~0.5% statistic in the past, but apparently the current estimate is lower. I'll edit my original comment to reflect this.

The reason there's a spectrum is that the simple "rules" like Y chromosome = male genitalia, aren't rules nature plays by. It's just the first pattern we noticed when we looked at DNA, that holds true most of the time. The actual instructions to make genitals aren't even fully located on the X or Y chromosome, they're all over our DNA.

The "third option" is "doesn't follow the rules we thought it was supposed to" - which is more about our lack of understanding how it works. Then saying the people who don't fit with our idea about how we think it works are the problem, instead of something we've oversimplified and don't fully understand. Then you get those unwilling to accept that maybe we don't understand nature, so we're going to force any outliers to fit into the neat boxes we made up before we knew better.

It seems that way if you don't look closely, but there are outliers that don't fit the binary in some way or another. Around 1 in 200 edit: apparently this has been revised from the 0.5% number I'd heard in the past, and is closer to 1 in 5500 people are born intersex - meaning something about their biology makes them not fit within the biological norm for their gender. For example, there are people born with a Y chromosome, but are born with only female genitalia. Some are born with both sets of genitalia (historically when this happened the parents would pick a gender and the baby would be operated on to remove the other genitals). Biology really only fits into our perfect boxes of gender until we look at the rare outliers, and see the nuance.

This is part of the reason that Trans rights matter, because while some would have you believe that it's all just people who were born in one box, wanting to have been born in the other box (which IMO is still a choice people should be able to make), there's also people who genuinely, biologically don't fit in our neat little boxes either who have just as much right to exist as those of us who do.

Isn't it kinda wild that we went from "wake up sheeple" being a pretty universal meme used across the political spectrum, to today where "being woke" which basically grew out of that meme is essentially considered a political ideology?

I saw a tiktok of a Brit talking about this with the upcoming ban in the US, and he made an interesting point. The Americans who can afford to travel and take time off work, are more often the ones who have lived privileged lives, and as a result act more entitled than the average American. He commented how interacting with regular Americans on tiktok changed his perception of what they are like, because only interacting with the tourists makes it seem like there's a higher percentage of entitled a-holes.

If your mail server is configured correctly this generally isn't that big of an issue. You need a DKIM service on your mail server, and with that add some dns records (SPF records and DMARC) to the domain As long as those are in place and configured properly, you should be able to avoid most spam filters considering your domain invalid.

I hope you mean Google, they track you all over the web whether you want to be tracked or not just because lazy web developers can't be bothered to host their own fonts (and other ways but that's just one example). You have to deliberately download or use TikTok for them to get your data.

Trump already asked them to delay the ban until after he gets into office (politico article source). This might say less about his promises, and more about the Supreme Court not being as much in his pocket as he thinks.

Personally, I prefer Infinite over the first two. Maybe I'm biased because I played Infinite first. But to me the story seemed a bit more polished and coherent.
