In antiquity people probably considered it a form of fire since anything struck by lightening tends to burn or at least get extremely hot? Or possibly they saw it as some combination of wind and fire maybe?
You clearly didn't read my question so I'll repeat it: This is not an "unpopular opinion" post at all but a post about climate change, yes? I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying you didn't really make that clear in the original post at all.

People have been living in hot and humid climates since LONG before air conditioning was around. Believe it or not some people just like warmer weather.
