Kinda seems misleading considering they said they need 7 mil copies sold to break even and 6 months after release it had sold 11 million. Blaming the layoffs on this seems like a transparent misdirection to make people think they lost money here. They want to spend less money, and I get that from a business standpoint, but it seems like they're looking for reasons to make people accept worse looking games. I don't really play high graphics games, but if they start decreasing the graphics budget I expect to see a decrease in cost. Don't pay the same for less.

I agree with the other comments saying it's about fun and not graphics, but this seems to have been published to get people to expect worse graphics regardless of fun.

I have said time and time again that it's not the voters fault, it's the campaigns fault, but my gosh are people upsetting. I'd prefer someone not know my community exists than show up just to tout harmful policies. Like, how is stepping foot in a building just to burn it down showing you care about the people there? I'm so saddened by the whole situation.

I'm only stating what the facts are. Often as it relates to law "lift" has an alternative meaning of to remove. Sometimes you see it with "lifting a ban" or "lifting restrictions".

I don't think having that limit realistically affects much other than government employees having to work unpaid for a while, but it is an area I feel like a compelling case could be made either way.

A limit increase is different from lifting the limit. The wording is admittedly quite similar, but lifting means removing completely. So this whole song and dance never happens again.

Ending your comment with "... Proudly" can be interpreted as you personally agreeing with that line of thinking. The ellipsis preceding "proudly" read (to me) as a wink and a nod to modern proud boys, but I can see how it can be interpreted as a pregnant pause before you revealing your personal opinion that he should be proud of his actions. I only commented that it might be worthwhile to mention if you don't support them because at least the other comment I see seems to have interpreted your comment to mean that you endorse nazi rhetoric. Is it "needed"? No, nothing is needed from a random comment you make, but leaving it as is leaves your position on it open to interpretation. If someone commented "why did hitler hate the Jews?" and someone responded "He hated their greediness and degeneracy" (or whatever), that'd likely be interpreted as them also holding those beliefs. I understand your comment was a little more nuanced, but I was just chiming in on the fact that it indeed can be read as you also holding those beliefs. I personally like to make clear that nazis can fuck off, especially if my alternative is potentially being associated with them, but you do you.

Yea, public transit differs wildly depending on area. Like I mentioned above, most drivers I saw actively resented this part of their job. To my recollection, the ramp was automated, but other than that the drivers would basically require you to ask for assistance and then huff and puff the whole time. Not all drivers, but a disproportionately large percentage. Would love to see that part of the job occupied by someone with more compassion, but you're correct that with the current system someone would need to be there for that. I was figuring that if the vehicle was automated they'd have ADA compliant automated safety features as well.

Nah, they already got their money by then. Their trades go through first then everyone else's? And prereporting trades is ripe for stock manipulation. They should not be able to personally manage a portfolio and imho insider trading should carry hefty corruption penalties for congress.

Totally understandable to want to have a kind of "responsible party" there. Public transit has a relatively high proportion of vulnerable populations, so you make a good point.

You didn't come off as defending anyone. I think it was just one of the first times I've heard someone talking about having mostly positive experiences on public transit (in the US). For what it's worth, it's nice to know it happens lol. Hope they continue to be positive!

For what it's worth, we do have hate crime laws that are supposed to be used in cases where racism is at play. I'm not saying it's always used, but we do have additional penalties for it.

Took the bus a lot as a kid/young adult. Some bus drivers were nice, but most were rude or basically had no impact on my commute. I've had a driver hit on me and then miss my stop multiple times after I declined. At least where I am, busses don't stop at all stops unless there's someone that needs to be picked up or dropped off and will regularly just skip stops if they're running behind, regardless of how packed the bus or stop is. Have a bike, or need wheelchair access? The bus driver is going to give you attitude the whole time, if they stop for you at all. Some bus drivers were nice and would remember you and say hi, or help people who had questions, but it was a minority in my experience.

I'm not saying we're ready to move to AI, but I can't imagine what kind of positive they're adding to your life that it is seen as a valid reason to keep them if they're not actually needed. Like if they're actually nice people, I would love to make sure they're working jobs that need to be done and could use the injection of positivity you're describing.

Biden, a white man, only stepped down because his own numbers showed him losing terribly too. The dems have lost the plot and are not speaking to (both in person and as a platform) their base.

I'm a woman, and though I agree that the undertones came off that way, the reality is that I agree with the comment. Cori and AOC don't come off as fake. Plenty of other women don't. Two things can be true at once. Women can be held to a higher standard, and some women can fall below the standard set for men. Voters always talk about how Trump is relatable and an outsider, and these women do not come off as relatable and definitely come off as insiders. It's possible that a man would be viewed less negatively than them, but if that's the case we need to either only run men (if we want to actually win), or be honest about the "likability" of our female candidates. Unfortunately, running doomed candidates is not actually gonna move the needle on this one, at least not in our favor.

The media is making this about respectability politics, and if it's "reasonable". No one I know in real life or that I follow/speak with online cares that it was done. Only that he did it and stopped there. Kinda feels like you didn't read my comment?

Also, I would suggest that considering he said he wouldn't do it, it's relatively reasonable to hold him to his word. If he thought it was unjust prosecution he should have said as much before the pardon, instead of insisting he believes in our judicial system up until the last second. If you want to bring up that there was a plea deal that was changed, I will gladly remind you that unjust prosecution and unjust sentencing are different things.

Regardless, this whole thing stinks of "the only moral abortion is my abortion". Plenty of people are unjustly prosecuted and sentenced and I would love to have seen him take this opportunity to at least remind people of judicial capture and that we have to stay vigilant to protect people from the harms that may come from that. But no he just said my son only. As though just that one person is suffering due to political stunts.

I know he doesn't actually care about Gaza or kids in cages, or people going hungry, but it would have been nice to get something from the guy while he's a lame duck making decisions that are politically unpopular, but since we're not related I guess not.

I've said this before, but this article is a complete straw man. I'm not saying he's ceding the moral high ground or whatever. I'm saying that if he's willing to do this, he should be going many steps further. The issue is that he's now shown that he's willing to go back on promises/use his office for personal gain (I don't care if you think it's justified, this is personal gain regardless). If he's willing to do that I'd love to see him try and make my life better before he lets his and his party's decisions ruin it. This is realistically the only way he or his family would suffer under Trump and he waves it away with a pen. I don't want him to suffer under Trump, but I also don't want ANYONE to suffer under Trump. He could be doing much more to make that the case. If he's garnering hate/no longer has the moral high ground, he could at least use it to fight dirty for OUR rights, since Trump will be so willing to fight dirty against our rights. People are making this seem like it's about something it's not so they can whitewash this act and treat anyone holding Biden accountable like a child. I don't want him to be a bad father. I'd just like him to be a better president.

My big issue with it is basically summed up by this meme. By doing this he's established that he's willing to break promises and take advantage of systems that republicans are abusing, but only when it benefits him personally. He could executive order a bunch of different things, and go on a pardon spree, but what he does with his power is just to pardon his son. Unlike the rest of us, a Trump presidency will basically not affect him at all, and the little it would/did has to do with his son and he doesn't even have to deal with that.

Do I want his son in prison? No, not really. But considering he all but lied about being a 1 term president and refused to step down making a primary impossible, which at least contributed to the dems loss, it's an extra slap in the face that the only real consequence he had to face is able to be erased by a stroke of his pen, and yet he seems to be doing nothing to protect or help anyone else who has been hurt by his decisions. I don't think Hunter should suffer because of who his dad is, but his dad is making (and has made) us all suffer and is unwilling to do anything about it.

I don't think that is a call out. Pretty sure it supports the statement. They said they were an advocate for repeal. Repeal would mean voting yes on the ballot measure. So no on 2 having 14 mil was against repeal and that's supporting their statement.
