  • The reason our government governs us today is because they have an overwhelming ability to do violence on us, and the majority of us fear it, even if only subconsciously. If you think it's by our choice, you're utterly delusional.

  • You mean the innovation that's destroying the planet? Ok bro.

  • That looks entirely inedible.

  • Fuck that deceptive headline trying to make it look like voice actors are against the strike. Sport Illustrated is a trash organization, though, so what else should I have expected?

  • Its nearly impossible to replicate what YouTube it is today.

Why would we want to? People want to replace Youtube because Youtube sucks ass. Replacing it with another monetized platform will only ever lead to the same place Youtube is at now.

It sucks that people who managed to make a living from their hobby have gotten fucked over, but until we have some major regulatory and economic overhauls, that's just how it works. Changing platforms is not a solution to that.

  • "Propaganda doesn't work on me, I vote third party!"

    -Actual quote from a coworker.

  • Violence against fascists just sounds like plain old self-defense to me.

  • Not a republican, but I staunchly support anything that potentially ends with christian nationalists putting each other in the hospital. Let them fight.

  • Squirrel is actually pretty good. Some of those others though...

  • You gonna pay for it?

  • Machines don't demand time off or benefits, and they sure as shit don't try to unionize.

They only wish they could hit me with a wrench when I get tired!

Plenty of employers do. They're called farmers and contractors. Just go ask literally any undocumented worker.

  • We are absolutely not machines to them. In a capitalist society, human life has no meaningful value beyond the profit it creates for other, wealthier people. Machines are generally far more cost effective than humans, and are therefore inherently more valuable.

  • Barely.

  • Or that meaningful labor rights can only be gained successfully through violent protest.

  • I'mnot talking about as a worker, but as a consumer. You do not have to give your money to these places. If you value convenience and familiarity over customer support and workers' rights, the problem is with your position, not mine.

  • Tell that to my cat who does anything and everything in her power to drink out of mugs and half full glasses when she has a nice wide fountain full of fresh, clean, filtered water 5 feet away.

  • You're right, I guess we just shouldn't try. We should probably just let corporations do whatever they want with no meaningful pushback and keep making our lives worse.

  • It'll be our fault because we accepted these practices in the first place.

  • Why should the customer have to hand-hold shitty corporations while we pretend, againt all past evidence, that they're ever going to learn to do better, when "doing better" isn't their goal?

It's not our job to fix bad business practices by rewarding them with continued business while they lie about "figuring things out." It's our job to condemn them to failure and bankruptcy for their atrocious anti-human behavior, and we're failing miserably at it due to our toxic collective preference for short-term convenience over quality and long-term societal and economic health.
