You're just really vocal about your diet, you're not a protected minority nor should you be lmao. Trying to equate yourself with being black, LGBT or having some other inherent, immutable property that leads to people getting murdered, raped, beaten, abused, fired, jailed, tortured, sold into slavery or many other things throughout the world, is kinda fucking offensive.

Eh, reputation is still a thing and they probably aren't getting to keep any of the IPs they worked on, like Stray or Outer Wilds. They also won't get to keep whatever cash the company might have had in reserve. My understanding is that the idea of spinning off a studio to be indie is that you get to keep developing your IPs to some extent, you still have your brand and your reputation, etc. Otherwise they probably would have done this at the beginning.

Correct. I'm not all that invested in social media tbh. If all generalized social media went down (like Twitter, Lemmy, Reddit, Tumblr, but not discord, matrix, mumble, specialty media like enthusiast forums, etc), then it'd take some time for me to find a new place to get news and memes, but that's primarily what I use social media for. News, memes, and occasionally venting into the comment section.

If you're gonna charge for social media, you have to have a pretty good incentive for people to join. Social media is expected to be free. Now, if you had a larger network that didn't just serve social media, but a wide variety of things like cloud storage, webhosting, game server hosting, etc in a walled garden that was designed to allow users to do mostly whatever they want while keeping bots out, now that I might be willing to pay for.

At what point is it just a car pretending to be a bike? You can't take a velomobile inside with you, so you'll need a parking lot. They can't take tight corners like bikes, skateboards, scooters, or other methods of personal transportation.

I'm pretty sure it's a joke to refer to some form of mysterious, unknowable power conducted by secretive practitioners or something. However, if you're gonna get upset about it and accuse people of being bigots then you should probably be more specific about which religion you're referring to and what's wrong with their statement. There are a number of religions that get called "voodoo" like Louisiana Voodoo, Haitian Vodou, Hoodoo, and Juju. Some of these religions encourage secrecy, others don't. Some incorporate magic, others don't. Some use talismans, others feature spiritual possession, and so on.

Edit: like, I'm not saying you're necessarily right or wrong, but you gotta be more specific if you want to clear up misconceptions, and you have to make sure you have your facts straight. You can't just say, "X is wrong/bad" and expect everyone to go along with it if they can't see why it's wrong or bad. Yes, you could just tell people to shut up and get with the program, but the kind of people who are willing to just "shut up and get with the program" probably are not going to be strong supporters because they don't really understand what they're supporting.

You know, he could have gone down in history as the angry meme man who told people they were fired on TV; and his crimes and shitty personality would have likely gone overlooked until after his death. Instead, he ran for president and this is how everyone is going to remember him. Also, kraft singles and Velveeta are actually kinda real cheese, iirc the reason why they aren't allowed to be sold as such because they contain a significant amount of added fats, oils, and other things to make them softer and more gooey. However, they still contain a significant amount of cheese.

I've been thinking more, and I think the Internet would be better off if it was segregated into two, mutually incompatible lanes. Lane 01: slow lane for webpages, online games, general web usage. Lane 02: high speed but exclusively for filesharing. Lane 01 content can provide links to Lane 02 content for filesharing purposes, but Lane 02 is set up so it can't actually be embedded.

Lol no, Sony was trying to use as many of their own parents as they could so they could fuck Nintendo over on royalties. They'd set up the Nintendo PlayStation's hardware so that Nintendo was having to pay royalties multiple times for a single device. Sony is literally scum. Nintendo is barely better, but at least they don't have a history of trying to pass off literal malware as drm.
