  • ….

In two hours I have a reoccurring leadership-type meeting where finding replacement vendors for Nearmap has been a topic of discussion for a few years. (TBF, my focus is on data accessibility and interoperability. I kind of zone out for that part of the meeting.)

I honestly don’t know why I have never considered that Google flies its imagery.

  • For the 5% of my adult life that I’ve had short hair and no beard: Quentin Tarantino. For the rest of my bearded, long-haired adulthood: Steve Burke from Gamers Nexus. But they need to have blue/green eyes and forehead wrinkles.
(Huh. On paper that just sounds like I look like Nick Offerman, but not really.)

  • It’s very funny to me how much nonsense is in this article.

What I mean by that is that the satellite photos - they look like Cuban missile crisis photos. I understand why they would mask the capability of spy tech, but I can get clearer imagery of my house from google.
And they don’t know when the launch failure occurred? There are plenty of seismographs that would pick up a large explosion like that. Psh.

  • I read a comment a few weeks ago from someone that is from around that area. Between J6 and the inauguration, apparently a bunch of concrete barriers sprung up and there were military personnel stationed throughout checkpoints at the Capitol complex.
Biden is many things, but he and his cronies are not intentionally keeping security weak in hopes that a coup will happen, nor will he or the other two people that can activate them hesitate to deploy the National Guard.

J6 was not a generalized failure of government processes or a mistake from lack of planning. There are standing plans, materiel, and personnel in place. The state of the Capitol and its defenses were a choice — an intentional failure, to open the doors for a coup.

  • Okay.

    I gotta admit. I don’t care.

And shit - do you see what they’re doing to the campus protestors? They are all fucking bad and we live in a police state.

But you’re throwing stones because someone didn’t contort their comment to equivocate Trump to Biden, who wasn’t a topic of conversation?

  • Their comment specified “For Trump”

That implies that they are doing the same thing, but for Biden. Obviously.
How do you not get that?

You won’t see what I chose not to say here. I don’t often have random vitriol for internet strangers, but goddamn.

  • Who was it intended toward?

Someone that hasn’t watched TV since the 1980’s? ChatGPT, for when someone invariably turns it loose on the fediverse?

It’s not niche as a concept. Your explanation is known worldwide.
Its inclusion in the discourse is unwarranted.

Next time you feel the need to add a disclaimer that justifies/explains/adds caveats to racist language: fucking don’t.

  • Obviously the story about Haitians is fake and racist. The real story is that an American woman did get arrested for torturing, killing, and eating a cat in front of other people in Canton, Ohio, which is about 170 miles (~275 km) from Springfield.
Politifact: Arrest of a Canton, Ohio, woman unrelated to baseless claims about Haitian immigrants in Springfield
    one comment down.

However, my preferred theory is that JD Vance heard that liberals eat pussy, and the random hateful sentiment generator in his head came up with migrants eating cats.

  • Keep things actionable.

    • Things you need go where they are useful or where their presence is a reminder not to forget them.
    • When relaying things, it doesn’t need a story if the story isn’t actionable.
    • When planning things, plan out the actions, and leave as much of the rest to the experience as you can, lest you get overwhelmed, frozen, and wind up with no plans.
  • I like to look up stuff, even if I’m not remotely qualified to understand the results.

Tartrazine induces structural and functional aberrations and genotoxic effects in vivo
Is tartrazine really safe? In silico and ex vivo toxicological studies in human leukocytes: a question of dose

My (thin) grasp of things is that even though it’s a food additive, it’s not heavily studied, and not at higher doses, but the two studies above don’t paint a great picture. And slathering it on your skin is definitely more than you’d come into contact with than what’s needed to color food.
So, yeah - not a parlor trick I’d do to gross out my friends.

  • I hope that’s not the case, but he’s rapidly declining, anyway.
I don’t really care if he’s ever imprisoned, so long as he loses and the cult that follow him and the sociopaths that fund/back him are left without their messiah/useful idiot in a position of power.

  • The article I read mentioned this person has co-morbidities. Presumably, that’s why their symptoms are worse/they even got tested. Perhaps this means that it only weakly infects humans (currently, anyway). Hence the lack of prior detection.
I’m sure we’ll start to see more community cases. Hopefully that won’t translate to the virus mutating further in ways that make it more infectious or harmful.
