  • Nothing. If my plants want to die, they die. I have like 30 plants.

However, if you want to save some of it, look into propagating it. The main plant might die but it can have offspring living on.

Edit: I don't know if this plant gets variegation but if it naturally does, it might not die

  • I'm a sci fi and fantasy guy. I don't think I have favorites, but I can list off some series. The Expanse, The Dark Tower, Dune up to Children of Dune, the series that starts with Ender's Game, The Foundation series, the Space Odyssey series, Stormlight Archive, the Three Body Problem series, as many books as you want from the Discworld series, The Witcher, Children of Time, etc etc etc

I couldn't name a single video essay by title. I just listen, I am entertained, and I move on. Anything by Folding Ideas is good. Those count as video essays right?

    Anything you want to recommend?

  • Video games

I like different video games for different reasons, but good gameplay is key. I enjoy some games because they're high octane, stressful, fast, engaging. But I also enjoy some games where basically nothing happens for long stretches. I loved walking around an empty world in Death Stranding listening to nice music just as much as I enjoyed brutally murdering demons to ardjent metal in Doom 2016.

    Scale modeling, and miniature painting

I like making cool stuff. There really isn't much more to it. I have a little knack for it, and the patience to do it, and I enjoy the process. I do display my work but don't use it for anything, or come back to admire it. I just like making stuff, and this hobby is my outlet for creativity.

    House plants

I used to be a bit more into this than I am now, but I still have about 30 houseplants, most of which are small. I liked getting the cool decorative stuff, and I like the color green. I grew fancy chilies a few times because I liked the reward of getting something out of my time and work. It's not a super high-effort hobby, and I can recommend it for people with not a lot of time on their hand. You can just grow stuff in pots and buckets. Just make sure to get stuff you have time for, and don't take it too harsh when something dies.

  • As with most things, it depends on the mistake. Sometimes you can fix things, or apologize for what happened, and sometimes there really isn't anything you can do. Whether too much time has passed, or the mistake is unfixable, sometimes you have to understand it, learn from it, and let that turn you into a person who wouldn't make the same mistake.

When it comes to forgiving yourself, I don't have an answer. I think talking about it with someone close might help, whether it's a therapist, a pastor, your parents, or your best friend. Getting someone else's perspective on it can help.

    Best of luck

  • If you're on PC I think you should be able to click the 3 vertical dots below the post title and edit the description.

On topic, IMO there is nuance in the answer to your question.

When perception and intention are 'positive', perception is more important. When perception and intention are 'negative', intention is a deal breaker.

  • I have the exact same thing. I have to 'work' to 'pay attention' to text nowadays. I can spend hours painting minis or roaming a museum, but there's something about text nowadays that almost pushes my attention away.

  • I think it has something to do with everything trying to get your attention, and waste your time for metrics.

We ignore signs because we don't want to read another popup.

We skim text because we don't want to know about your life story, just the chili recipe, thanks.

We skip or misread instructions because we've been doing the job for years, and we're halfway on autopilot.

We can't find a restaurant or shop right in front of us because we're starting to learn to ignore bright colors and flashing lights.

We browse the internet while watching a movie because we've seen the same cliche Marvel movie before.

The problem is that sometimes we get so used to these things that we also do it when we shouldn't be.

  • With taxes and fees, the kWh price is normally higher for me, so your consumption must be way way higher. I don't have an electric water heater or AC, I don't cook every day on my electric stove, and I don't work from home.

According to my last bill I only used 195 kWh and the bill came to 780dkk, which is about 4dkk/kwh (all after fees and taxes) which is like 60 cents if google is right. Shit, maybe my automatic meter is busted, and I'm gonna get slapped with a big-ass recalculation. Admittedly, in my previous place I did pay about 4 times as much, and I had an electric water heater but no AC.

  • brushing teeth when enamel is weakened by acidity is destructive

breakfasts foods tend to be acidic (well, acidity raises after a meal in general)

And with this it reaches the conclusion that brushing your teeth before breakfast is safer than brushing right afterwards

This is what my point is. What are you arguing?

  • OP has never slaughtered and plucked a chicken so he doesn't know that's not abnormal for a chicken. That's how chickens be, that's just how it do. Whatever mechanism (or employee) they have doing this, didn't do a good job this time.

Either pluck the feathers with tweezers, or just rip off the skin and eat the chicken without skin. I know the skin is delicious, but hey, better than binning the whole thing, right? By the way, if the fat is yellow, and/or the meat is dark, that's also normal for a full-on farm chicken. IMO it tastes better.
