  • Daredevil wasn't in Echo, but Kingpin was. Kingpin also showed up in Hawkeye, but less than in Echo. Obviously can't say for certain as I haven't seen this new season of Daredevil, but I doubt either of those shows would be what I considered "required" viewing going into this one.

  • Last of us part 2 is a great story as well. It gets a lot of hate online, but a LOT of that hate is cuz the game not only has lesbian characters, but it also has a trans character, and a woman with muscles character. And that's just way too much woke apparently.

  • I remember liking half of it. Oddly enough, I can't remember whether I liked the first half where he's a drunken bum, or the second half, where he's more together, but I specifically remember thinking half of it was decent at least.

So yeah, I agree that it's not very memorable.

  • The Boys, Fallout, Invincible, Good Omens. These were all good shows, though the Boys is kinda wearing thin and I'm glad it's ending next season.

Haven't seen em, but Jack Ryan, Reacher, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel...all these seem to have done extremely well and been popular.

Sure they have their absolute disasters like the Rings of Power too, but it's not like they're on the same level of quality as like the freevee's and roku original shows.

  • Yes, 2 had a lot of re-used locations. Some of them did make sense, as the story was almost entirely set within a single city, so certain locations are bound to pop up multiple times, especially as the game takes place over a decade or so.

But the real reason, 2 was developed and rushed out the door in like a year or something? It was a ridiculously short amount of time to develop a sequel to a game as big as DA:O. Unsurprisingly, this led to a LOT of re used assets and locations.

But though it obviously had failings, I, like some others, would probably put DA2 as the high point for the series telling really character driven stories with the most compelling cast of characters.

  • “1oz .999% silver medallions”

So the coins weigh 1 oz, and are, for all intents and purposes, 1% silver? According to a quick google, silver is worth $31.07 an ounce today. So these coins have 3.1 cents worth of silver in them.
And he's selling them for $100 each.

Or is the decimal used differently here because the Guardian is British and in this context it means 99.9%?
In that case it's $31 worth of silver sold for $100, but that seems a downright generous investment when it comes to Trump merchandise, so I'm still guessing it's 3 cents worth of silver.

  • Why wouldn't they confirm his appointments? Senate is controlled by dems right now. They can either confirm Biden's appointments, and have a dem judge, or not, which risks Trump making appointments to these same positions.

Only time the judges don't get confirmed at the end of a president's term is when the opposing party controls the senate. See: end of Obama's term and his appointment of Garland to the SC.

  • NYT and WaPo both have articles about it. Paywalled, so I can see why OP wouldn't link em. I can't even get the wsj home page to load on firefox with ublock, so I can't say whether they reported on it at all, but it's not exactly like nobody is reporting on this.

  • Honestly, fair criticism, as it is still a $60 game and in my old timer's brain that means everything should be unlockable through gameplay. Unfortunately, that's just not how the market seems to work anymore, so I'll just be glad their extra monetization is only limited to cosmetics and not gameplay stuff as well.
