  • I like using "gentle people".

Would the gentle person care for some more wine?

    Works for all genders

  • I'd suspect it's a water safety thing, not wanting to drink stagnant water right next to their "kill". The cats I've had have always preferred drinking running water in the bath

This is but a hypothesis, though

  • Welcome to the reality of the broken US voting system bud

  • Your boss would be breaking the law in Australia, now explicitly under the new right to disconnect legislation, if they said anything about it.

(Though, could have probably been argued in the past also as unpaid overtime in the past)

  • Thank you, this detail had me scratching my head. D≈1.56" makes so much more sense.

Not knowing the difference between circumference and thickness? Instant turn off.

  • I don't judge the individual, but I sure as hell judge them as a group, who keep voting for people who are doing genocide.

  • Work forced our update and it's massively slowed down everyone's computers.

The IT guy gave me this knowing look when I came to ask if I could do anything about it.

    Nope.

Bloody ridiculous because in terms of functionality it's a step backwards in many areas, some decent little improvements in very few areas, and overall trash performance.

Really wish they had paid for extended security updates.

  • If we know each other, I'd tell you in a heartbeat. On the internet where someone will just vacuum it up into their dataset? Not a chance.

  • Ah I guess that's fair

  • I've always hated "incompressible" when talking about fluids. It's just shorthand for: doesn't compress much under pressure.

In engineering unless you're dealing with insane pressures, when something is "incompressible", assuming it is is good enough.

But it's still misleading so I don't like it haha

  • This would be diabolic. No one makes something due at a time ending 59 other than 23:59.

I could totally imagine this happening by mistake, due to 12 hr time error.

I wish people would talking in 24 hour time, even

  • Because ethanol forms an azeotrope with water, 100% ethanol is also considerably more expensive than ~95%

They're definitely not gonna use 100% ethanol haha

  • I took it as more of a PSA

  • faen

  • As a native English/German speaker, this sign just makes so much sense. Very onomatopoeic. I love it

Speed Bump just doesn't hit as hard

  • I haven't seen it, but the problem is that dairy is consumed to ungodly levels in the US, and even mandatory for school food programs, I believe. The problem with dairy is the myth that it's vital to a healthy diet, despite like 50% or more of the world not being able to properly digest it.

If it's addictive, then seems like a bit of an issue if it's being pushed on kids.

It's not gonna kill you in moderation, though.

The US really has a weird obsession with cheese, in my opinion. I live in Australia, a western country with the majority having European ancestry. As such cheese is consumed, in large qualities also. But my lordy, the US is on a whole other level with cheese.

The most revolting thing I've seen is "gooey" liquid cheese "sauce".

    🤢🤢🤢🤢 Yikes.

Haha, sorry for the rant, kind internet stranger, I am glad you enjoy your cheese, and if it makes you happy, then bless your heart, even if I don't understand personally

  • I don't mind cheese, but I have never understood the obsession with piles of cheese.

Cheese pizza has never made sense to me. Margarita is already plenty of cheese to topping ratio.

Just enough cheese to hold it together. That's it, that's the right amount of cheese (my opinion, of course)

I recently came across the question whether cheese or sauce is more fundamental to pizza.

The sauce. It's 100% the sauce.

  • A better suggestion for Chinese is Pleco, but you have to download an app for that (if one is learning Chinese, one would already have this)

I'm keen to find something else for universal unicode character recognition, but haven't extensively searched.

If you have any suggestions, feel free

  • A bunch of Europeans in this comment section forgetting there are more "western" countries than just western Europe and the USA/north America.

Fortnightly is the most common in Australia, with some people paid monthly also (depends on the company).

And thankful for this. Monthly sounds terrible
