If you JUST get measles, you should be fine. The issue is the potential for immune amnesia - meaning the potential for opportunistic infection is incredibly high, as is the potential for that infection to become serious.
The issue is that controlled burns require a large amount of manpower to make sure it STAYS controlled. You don't simply toss a match into that part of the forest, there's a lot of firebreak work and very careful observation that goes in to making sure a burn doesn't turn into something bigger and harder to control.
This is pretty much the story of the entire Land Warrior program. Nobody ever expected it to be a Real Thing, it was always a pie-in-the-sky boondoggle to make a shitload of money for the MIC.
I'm sure a lot of these names are people who were courted by think-tanks like the Heritage Foundation. A lot of them pay TONS to send middle class and rich kids to good colleges all to get them near positions of power - then they saw Elon randomly walking into government departments with valuable data and said 'well shit let's just give these kids who were gonna be coffee gophers for Lauren Boebert to him instead'.
The other issue would be getting ANYONE to actually remove him from office. I don't trust Congress to do it, I don't trust the judiciary to order it, and I sure don't trust any federal law enforcement agency to do it now.
Don't forget ICE going into schools and boarding schoolbuses so they can arrest Hispanic-looking kids. They didn't just accelerate the genocide, they imported it home.
Pretty much this. The idea is to take the 50 United States and turn them into MORE of a pile of nation states than they already are, with a federal government who pretty much only exists to do violence and maybe occasionally diplomacy with foreign nations who are too strong to simply roll over with military might.
And then AccuWeather leases out the data to all those foreign and domestic weather agencies and makes heaps of cash saying "well if you want accurate forecasting data that's gonna be $200k/yr."
Nah, this isn't even about data control. This is about selling off the data, the forecasting infrastructure, the hardware, models, and most important, SATELLITE NETWORK that allow accurate forecasting. Commercial launches of scientific instruments are very very expensive with very little immediate ROI. It's much cheaper to simply buy an existing entity out that HAS THAT and then piggyback their data - which is effectively what this is. AccuWeather has been wanting this for almost 20 years.
And? A lot of the big banking execs, and the rest of the billionaire class in general, seem to largely understand that we're at the theoretical limit of "line goes up". They're happy to squeeze the last bit of juice out of the lemon before they retire to some bunker in New Zealand or whatever.
Long term thinking is dead in much of the corporate world. The focus isn't on next year, it's on next quarter if not next week. A market crash would be easily predictable for a lot of financial firms now - they know what to spot, and the housing crash in 08 showed them that they can jump out pretty scot-free no matter what.
Stop this. It's not a "front", it's not a "smokescreen". This entire admin is the constant "I wants" from two men who haven't ever been told no in their entire lives: one who's the President and such a yes-man that he'll do whatever his little dictator friends ask him to, and the other who's a 59 year old manchild that is guided solely by "wow wouldn't that be cool".
Don't forget that Trump is also talking about shifting control of Gaza to the US for some godforsaken reason (it's beachfront property and his real estate mogul friends will make tons of cash building resorts on mass graves and skeletons).
You laugh, this is literally Curtis Yarvin's (one of Elon's mentors) vision of America. A patchwork of corporatocratic fiefdoms, technically beholden to a federal government that basically only exists to be the arm of violence. The whole "no authority higher than a county sheriff" thing? Came out of his books. The idea of being "educated" will only be for the vaunted manager-class. All of us not lucky enough to be in the millionaire's club, or one of their trusted lackeys, will be lucky to know how to read beyond a 3rd-grade level, or do math beyond simple arithmetic.
Could also just be made up. Fabricating evidence in the age of the computer is not hard.
